winning in SD3

This question was prompted by a thread on one of the other forums. Since SD3 has the most difficult end boss of any game that I can think of off hand, I was wondering how many other people have beaten the final boss (and thus the game)? I’m assuming without using cheats, of course. Also, has anybody won without using emulator save states?

I’ve won the game, but only by using save states. For reference, my party was Lise, Kevin, and Angela.

There are three different final bosses, I’ve beaten them. It wasn’t very hard. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m talking about the dragon. I don’t remember any others, but it’s been a while since I played.

The secret is Carlie. Turn her into a necromancer and she can do grade-A healing and grade-A all-enemy damaging attacks.

I used Hawkeye, Lise and Angela. I’m still stuck in the fight against the pale vampire-like guy (In Hawk’s storyline). Mostly just because I hate having to level up at the end of a game.

Well i havent finish it yet right now im in Durals storyline but i thnk is his storyline and maybe Angela’s were you get to fight the hidden boss of the game:[spoiler] The Black Rabite

The dragon was the weakest final boss outside of an FF game I ever faced. I just Black Cursed him with Carlie and minded up Angela with Lise, and all my spells do 999, and with Power Up or whatever the attack one is Lise’s techs do 800+ damage too.

You get a different end-boss depending on who you choose as your main character.

Do you count Chrono Trigger as a FF game? Because to me, Lavos was a much easier battle than the dragon.

The dragon was easy, he just took forever to beat (well, by action RPG standards at least. Seymour from FFX was easier AND took longer to beat)

Is it just me, or are a lot of end bosses just “jokes” now? "cause, think about it. Once you get to “the end” you usually have all the keen shit you need. Unless you like a challenge and just blaze through the game.

yeah. Someday, if i ever make a game, I’ll have a boss battle that people will remember. Like zeromus in FF4 hard. I remember him well O_O

Zeromus in FF4 was so-so. If you want hard, go for the final boss in SaGa Frontier 2. Lordo, that’s got to be one of the most difficult final battles.

Meh. The Dragon Emperor was easy. He just took an annoyingly long time. Otherwise he was nothing special. I had a harder time with the Archdemon.

I never har any trouble with any boss…
SD3 isn’t that hard…
In fact, some of the regular bosses are worse than the final ones :stuck_out_tongue:

Dolan. I HATE fighting Dolan.

Based on the responses that I’ve read, I want to ask an additional question, just to be sure: how many others have won without Carlie in their party?

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/staff/tenchimaru/td.gif”> I got annoyed by SD3 due to being out of money for items, and after leveling enough to be able to buy the best equipment, that new equipment got available. So I looked up how to hack savestates for cash (that’s how I found RPGC), and proceeded to do so. But I hated myself for hacking 5 minutes later, so I stopped playing. I really need to restart that game someday.

For the record, I was near some ice cave with Duran (Knight), Angela (Rune Mage, or whatever the first evil class was) and Carrie (first good class.)

I did beat the final set of bosses in SD3. If i wouldve lost one more time i would’ve thrown my computer out of the window. Damn that was a hard one. I beat it with getting to a good point in the battle and then using a save state to pick up there later on.

The boss that was the hardest for me was Archangel (or DarkPrince) because he would always switch elements at the worst time than rape me with his hypercannon.

By the way, Mastermune, the only way to even get close to beating Black Rabite is to hack your level up to 99. Even then its almost impossible. I havnt done it, but theres a video here of someone who has.

I haven’t finished the game yet, but I got to the final part without the little girl.
