win xp stuff

anyway to…

make aim not open every time I open outlook ? (I disabled the aim function in outlook as well as the open with aim in outlook options)

make the computer stop making the “my music” folders after I just renamed it music?

I give it a low shot and say you’d have to edit something in the registry. Maybe.

Could this help you?

Change the location of the My Music or My Pictures folders
Contributed by Larry Samuels
In Windows 2000, Microsoft added the ability to right-click the My Documents folder and choose a new location for that folder in the shell. With Windows XP, Microsoft has elevated the My Music and My Pictures folders to the same “special shell folder” status of My Documents, but they never added a similar (and simple) method for changing those folder’s locations. However, it is actually pretty easy to change the location of these folders, using the following method.

Open a My Computer window and navigate to the location where you’d like My Music (or My Pictures) to reside. Then, open the My Documents folder in a different window. Drag the My Music (or My Pictures) folder to the other window, and Windows XP will update all of the references to that folder to the new location, including the Start menu.Change the location of the My Music or My Pictures folders

I believe you mean MSN Messenger, and not AIM?

If so, this should help.

Here’s a better question, how do I stop those damned spam messages that pop up telling me to get rid of windows messenger? How do I kill that program, seeing as how I’ve never used it?

Those are most likely caused by the Messenger Service. Go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services: And halt Messenger, take care to Properties and disable it; else it would just restart at startup.

No Nul, I already did that on day 1 I got my pc. This is AIM.

Sin: Here’s your solution. Don’t use Outlook. On a fresh format (unless you backed up your mail) you might as well switch to Eudora or some other mailer.

I just named my Music folder ‘Muzak’.
