Apologies if this is in the wrong forum (or if there’s a thread like this already in existence), but I was curious to know what you all use for wallpapers. Wallpaper sharing is a popular pastime on the other forums I visit, so I thought I might see if it’s as popular here. If you created your wallpaper(s) like I did, share your thoughts on them. (For the sake of people on lower connections, I think anyone who posts a picture should try to shy away from bitmaps or excessively large files. I’ve toned down the pixel size on my wallpapers so they don’t stretch the posts too much.)
This is the desktop I’m using for my desktop computer at the moment. As you can see it uses the same image as in my little signature. I scanned this pose of Vash in from the manga, took the clouds in the background from the same book, added the text, and I had this. It’s one of my best works, I think, though it won’t appeal to people who are crazy about color or don’t like simplicity.
This is another desktop I did in the same style. I’m using it on my new Dell laptop, and the laptop’s screen is shaped somewhat oddly (1280x800 instead of 1280x1024, for example) so this desktop is a bit smaller heightwise. I like the Vash desktop better, but I feel that this one has its merits. I’m especialy fond of the way Saito’s hand and sword extend over the letterbox - I had that in mind from square one. I wanted to emphasize the character and not the pose, thus the “echo” image in the background.
That’s all there is to say, really. Like I said, feel free to share your own wallpapers and your thoughts on them, as well as thoughts on other peoples’ wallpapers.
