What If They Made a Metroid Movie?

This isn’t your typical multiple choice poll. If a Metroid movie was made, who would you pick as the female lead for Samus Aran?

My Pick would be …damn, this is a tough one…

I’d have to say …If this was made in the 80’s I’d say Sigourney Weaver. She set the standard for alien ass kicking in her heyday.

But this is 2004, and I don’t watch too many movies.

So I’d Have to say Milla Jovovich. Even though she’s in the Resident Evil series, she’s a well versed actress in Sci-fi movies. Watch the Fifth Element sometime, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Remember these are opinions. If it actually was made, the makers would probably cast Angelina Jolie in the lead role. That’s also my opinion.

I think a Metroid movie is in the works actually.

That doesn’t surprise me.

With John Woo at the helm, I beleive.

And I can see Milla in the lead role. She’s badass enough. She’d need to dye her hair and grow it though. Long-haired blonde Samus is canon, muthafuckas.

Yeah, it’s been announced and has some crew.

Considering Fifth Element, I don’t think that will be an issue. :hahaha;

Oh god. I’d REALLY love to see this…

Maybe Claudia Black with blonde hair?

I think Milla would be a good pick also. The movie wouldn’t need an awesome actress, just the same kind of application that was put into the metroid prime games.

Drools
x3 Metroid~

Holy crap <strike>would</strike>do I want to see it!!

How badass.I want to see it!!

I had a dream about a Metroid movie. There was no dialouge (just some text at the beginning as a set up) and no bullshit, it was just Samus being badass for an hour and a half. They should make that movie.

it would be nice to see a movie about metroid.
but what story would it have…

edit
it hasn’t been updated for more than a half year…

Milla Jovovich does sound like a good choice, considering her performance in the Fifth Element and Resident Evil. But in spite the seeming ‘badassedness’ of Samus, for some reason I have always imagined her as actually quite a kind and compassionate woman with amazing fighting abilities.

Although the idea of a Metroid film does not truly thrill me, I suppose that I should see it simply because I liked the game…and probably months after the film has been released, when it comes to a local cinema which plays recent but not current films.

Doesn’t anyone realize that movies based on video games suck?

And how can you make a good Metroid movie UNLESS it was exactly how Epic described it? I don’t want to hear Samus talk or interact with characters. That’s not what Metroid is about. I want to see her running around and blowing shit up.

But as much as Hollywood loves to blow shit up, they always tack on a stupid love side-story or something. Unless Samus falls in love with the giant metroid from Super Metroid, I don’t want to see any love side-story!

They should do a film of Metroid Fusion and have SA-X fall in love with Samus. Yep.

Hmm, when I think strong female lead in armor, I think of Leelee Sobieski.

Lets ignore the fact that I find her utterly gorgeous, but her acting skill is quite well. I also find that her accent would suit Samus’ character. I mean, she defined compassionate female in armor in as Joan.

Hmmm… she does look like she’d make a good Samus.
Personally, I think Samus must have a softer side, considering what happened with the Metroid hatchling. If such a movie was made, I’d be willing to see a bit more about the Chozo, as well as her connection to them. From Zero Mission, it’s clear that she was raised by them, and the murals in Chozodia hinted a lot at her armor’s origin, but that’s about it.
