Looking at the backlog thread, I was curious as to what games we’re all looking forward to play once they release.
Assassin’s Creed 2
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth
God of War 3
Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep
Final Fantasy 13
Ace Attorney 5
Dragon Ball Kai: Saiyajin Raishuu (holding out for an English release)
DQ VI and IX (if VI ever comes out in next year or two)
Both KH games
SMT game for DS
Diablo 3 (sorta forgot about it)
Knights in the Nightmare
Tales of Innocence (Patch for it is coming in the next couple of months.)
Tales of Destiny: Director’s Cut (Same as above, but will probably take 2-3 years.)
Monster Hunter Tri (MH3)
Sands of Destruction
Nostalgia (DS game)
Demon’s Soul (I hear it’s like Zelda for PS3, dunno about a US release.)
I’m extremely pissed to see that ToD:DC will probably never make over here, since it’s likely the greatest 2D Tales game ever made. Battle System is totally awesome as well (near-infinite combos and lots of hi-ogis anyone?). Watch some Youtube videos for the full effect.
Demon’s Souls is highly unlikely to get a US release. Go here and import the Asian English version and play it already. English is the original language for the audio and there really isn’t much of an issue with language other than the manual being in Chinese (but there’s a tutorial and a control summary in English) and some vague item descriptions you can figure out from the wiki. It’s been consistently selling out, but From Soft seems to be having issues getting publishers outside of Asia lately.
Zelda for ps3 isn’t a very good description. The game is basically King’s Field + Monster Hunter, with a dash of roguelike tossed in to make you curse at the tv every 10 minutes. The game has a good bit of a learning curve and will not hesitate to kill you if you aren’t paying attention. It’s great fun once you get moving, but the first few steps are pretty much flying leaps into a yawning abyss. Melee combat is fairly complex, ranged combat is broken as hell in pve and magic is pretty handy.
