They have a website and a phone number to call, so I’m pretty sure I’ll buy one after I check around about it.

Eh Steve! I guess that’s a good poem then! … What was it, then?

I forget ^^

Not sure if it’s the same one, but there was something like that circulating the net a while back - and it was fake. As it turns out, in order to join this contest, you have to give them $1000.

I dunno if this is it, it’s different, but just a heads up that it coult be.

My teacher recommended me sending my poem in to them. I doubt it’s fake even more. I’m going to call the number, though.

Wait… Did you just give us their phone number?

Yeah, in case anyone wanted to check 8p

My sister went through something very similar to this a while ago. Everyone who sends a poem in gets it published in this giant book with thousands of poems, then they sell a copy of the book to everyone that entered. It’s a scam, don’t bite.

I used to do this kind of stuff when I was in fifth grade, now it’s like, I write stories.

Things like this:

they are scams. They’ll publish any crap inside of their book, just so you can buy it. They want you to succumb to your own vanity.

Sorry to burst your bubble (it happened to me, too).

EDIT: At least, a similar company. They ALL say the same damned thing.

That would be the first snail-mail scam I have seen, neat. And if it, indeed, is scam: Let’s spam them back. Wee.

Yeah it’s a scam probably… Xelo almost fell for one of these a while back, if I remember correctly.

I say you should get them to print your poem, but not buy it when they ask you to… see if they still print it. They probably won’t.

Fell for one my ass. took the email address I got the email from and signed it up for about 500 porn lists. Those’ll be some PRETTY good poems.

I entered a poem in one of these contests in the fifth grade… I got published and they sent me the book for free. That’s an easy way to tell if it’s legit… And I don’t think a teacher would recommend a scam, unless they’re in on it too. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh well
A man can dream, can’t he? :stuck_out_tongue:
