It seems the Hitchiker’s Guide movie is not the only Scifi flick in theaters next summer. It’s been a while since the last film version was made based on H.G. Wells’ book. And since it’s directed by Spielberg, it’ll be interesting to see how it turns out. 
As long as it’s not turned into some sort of Independence Day action knock-off, I think it’ll be good.

they used Wells’ introduction almost word-for-word in the trailer, so that’s a good sign.
what I wonder is if this movie is going to make any overt political statements. It could be very easily done.

I remember a TV show spin-off based on the book. It was set in a post-apocalyptic Earth with rebel human units fighting against alien colonization. If the movie’s anything like that, but with a back story, I may like it.
