Gee, and all this time, I thought a real masamune was a sword made by the swordsmith Goro Nyudo Masamune.
I mean the FF7 Masamune.
Looks more like a Naginata than anything.
Hehehe, yeah, but we all know the fanboys will be after this one.
Heh.
I posted the Buster Sword here years ago.
Pretty Sweet.

Damn thats one wideass sword, but that guy modelling the sword looks like a fruit.
I frikkin hate that site and they deserve to be sued. The “Fantasy Sword” is somehow related to the “Gunblade letter opener” without them explaining how. They don’t give credit to Squaresoft at all for making the sword designs. And if I’m not mistaken, the Gunblade is Trademark to Square.
Heh. Long time no see Xelo.
Maybe they got permission from Square to make them? It’s possible.

Sephiroth’s Masamune didn’t look like that. That thing’s handle is way too long. And the blade’s too short. And I don’t remember Sephy’s sword having a fruity tassel either.
Well that’s what they call it.
Plus how do you know the handle is way too long?
While it is longer then it is in FF7, the masamune in FF7 did have a long handle.
The Buster Sword looked okay, but that Masamune, nah, gimme a normal sized katana, or even a european cut 'n thrust.
It isnt that Pakistani steel is it ? I’d rather die than own another pakistani stainless sword…mutters something about his sword breaking
This sword i am saving up my money for is Toledo steel, i hear a LOT of good things about it.
Seph’s Masamune wasn’t any kind of real sword, it was just an enlarged version of a Katana and since the blade was about two times bigger than usual, but the handle was normal size, there is no way such a sword could be used efficently.
Cloud’s Buster Sword was slightly based on the Zanbatou, a GIANT sword created to kill mounted troops (Supposedly, it was able to kill both the rider and the horse) but it was so heavy that almost no one could use it. Anyone who’s ever seen Rurouni Kenshin might remember Sanosuke having one of those.
By the way, isn’t that “Reverse blade katana” Kenshin’s Sakabatou?
At first I read the title as “Wanna be like Selphie?” and I’m all “HUH?!” when I see the pictures…foolish indeed. Anyways that’s a very beautiful weapon.
If a sword has neither aesthetic appeal or function, then there is no reason to get the sword. Both the “Masamune” and Buster Swords posted here are ugly looking and cumbersome to wield. There is no reason to buy these swords.
First of all the FF7 Masamune, was pretty much taller than Sephiroth (and he was probably between 5 and 6 foot). Which is why in the game it is said only Sephiroth could use it.
Secondly, Cloud’s Buster sword was much bigger/fatter than that one. It is what gave it it’s extra strength.
And personally if I was going to get a weapon that has appeared in FF, then it would either be Cloud’s Murasama (sp?), or Kiros’ Katars. Now they were sleak and stylish weapons.
Old news, I posted them ages ago.

Well, technically theres no reason to buy ANY swords nowadays. Theres really no practical application, and very few schools of martial arts will use swords like these for weapon training.
Oh yeah, and where DO they find these models?

The Matrix?
That guy reminds me of NeoTech…
A swedish pen&paper RPG that is set in a futuristic setting, and it’s got pic for just about everything…
From weapons and ammo, to wolwerine style claws and gills…
Most of the pics lok sort of like that, but some are really cool…
