Vampire: The Requim

Because i am gol derned loser, I bought the new world of darkness books, and let me say, “what the hell happened?”. THe damn bruja are a bloodline, along with, the toreador, and malkovians? And now only five clans? Does anyone else have an opinion on this? And could someone give me insight as to when whitewolf made all of their other products obsolete.

I really haven’t played it yet- but I’ve read some of the material on their site- and the WOD book in the store.

I wanna know how the stats of Sin and Virtue work, though- and why the flying FUCK they changed the nine cardinal stats. :-p

Because Gehenna happened.

The three words to fuck up any sort of WOD system ever.

Well… My biggest problem with the new rules is that they messed up all the clans…
Especially Malkavians ;_;

Sins and virtues replace nature (and demeanor) as ways of getting your willpower back…
When doing something that defines your vice (as I believe it’s called) you regain one willpower, when doing something good you regain ALL willpower…
Of this means that you would rather be a god guy than a bad guy, but you want to be that anyway, because in vampire you loose your character (0 humanity) if you are too evil :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, I really prefer the old systems, even if some rules are much easier to use now (the rules for nature/demeanor was kinda weird. The new ones are a bit better)…
As for the stats, ask the people who remade the rules :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm, Hold a second… So they completely changed the system they used? Which system is used in the upcoming Vampire game (Due October) for PC? I’ve seen a Character Generation video, and they claim it stays fairly true to the rules.

Well, despite the fact that they gave the shaft to everything that we know and love (loathe?), I think that this Requiem thing is a good thing. I honestly think that the WOD had spiralled too far out of the creators control, and they wanted a fresh start. From what I’ve seen of the actual systems, things are a lot clearer.

Now as for a more playable game, I’ll wait and see how people find a way to create the most unrighteous characters they can before I mention that I think it looks a bit better balanced. Seriously though, I think that the whole of the WOD had gone WAY to far, and this is a good jump back to the darkness that Vampires supposedly were created to live in.

And as for the obsoleteness of the other products, yes, many of them are. Exalted is a separate game setting, and so is Orpheus, but I think that all the other story lines went to hell together.

Yeah, but Malks are a bloodline, which sucks mucho.

In addition, if the excuse “Because Gehenna happened” is the whole basis behind the next line up of WoD books, I fear what they have done to Mage. Already, the Traditionalist/Technocrat alliance really sucked as a concept, I fear.
