Awhile back, I downloaded a Half-Life 2 mod, called “Minevra: Metastasis”. I want to uninstall it now. Problem is, I can’t seem to do figure out how to do so. There’s an “uninst” icon in the folder, but it doesn’t seem to do anything.
Would somebody mind walking me through the process, or, failing that, tell me what to delete so that I don’t accidentally screw up the rest of my games?
lol, you uninstall mods the same way you install them - via steam. Go to your games menu, right click whatever it is you want to uninstall, go to properties (or whatever it’s called), and hit uninstall. This should do the trick; there may be some residual files left over, which can usually be uninstalled via the control panel, or deleted manually.
FYI! You should defragment your computer when you un/install anything on steam. Don’t ask me why, it’s just what I’ve heard.
That doesn’t work if you install a third party mod from outside of steam. Typically to remove those you can just delete the mod folder in “Steam\steamapps\SourceMods” if the uninstaller doesn’t work.
