Torchwood: Children of Earth

HOLY CRAP. Seriously. Even though it’s just five episodes long- and admittedly I love Torchwood anyway- this has just filled a large Galactica-shaped hole in my TV. Simply breathtaking. If you haven’t seen it, now’s the time to get a British proxy and head over to the BBC iplayer.

I have seen every episode of Doctor Who (Eccleston and Tennant) But I have not seen any episode of Torchwood. Is it required to have seen previous episodes to enjoy it better? Or can I jump right in?

Is Captain Jack in it?

Yes of course Captain Jack is in it, silly Kairi. He is one of the leading stars of Torchwood… it just wouldn’t be Torchwood without Captain Jack.

Anyway Charle, if you have seen all of Doctor Who, you will at least know who all the main members of the Torchwood are, so that shouldn’t be a problem. And as far as I am aware, the Children of Earth story is a completely stand alone thing. So besides the odd reference to previous events/characters in the earlier series of Torchwood, you should be able to watch it without problems… I think.

Yeah I caught a bit of this the other day, and within a few minutes it got me hooked and wanting to see more. But I had to stop myself from watching, since I was jumping in halfway through. So need to go back and start watching it, see what happens.

What’s Torchwood about? I saw maybe half of the first episode, but it didn’t catch my interest.
