the new ps2...

Uhm… legally say no? It’s not illegal for a buyer to refuse certain merchandise.

then i guess its just cuz im so freakin awesome. :kissy:

Exactly! I don’t like it since I can’t use the hard drive. I like the hard drive since it keeps me from having to buy a million memeory cards. This way I can just copy things to and from it and only need one memory card. I can’t see any reason to get the new PS2 unless yours is fucked up. I do prefer top loaders though since I don’t have to worry about the disc tray motor wearing out.

Actually, this may or may not be a good thing depending on how you look at it, but the fact that the new PS2 is a toploading system means it’s probly a lot easier to bypass copy and region protection. The old PS2s actually have mega MEGA weird toploading mods that you can buy and such (that are not legal of course, or rather, you’d have to screw the warranty), which allow you to play pirated/import games. This toploading system, while good for piraters, may be bad for Sony overall. :stuck_out_tongue:

Crino, EB’s deals are fucking shit :stuck_out_tongue:

Crino: EB’s policie is this.
An older sports game (Not te latest year) by EA Sports is worth $3 CDN
The newest sports game by EA is worth 5$ CDN
Any sports game made by someone other than EA is worth $2 CDN

Now, if you truly want to take advantage of that offer, look in their clearance bin and pick out the five cheapest games you see, and ask if they’re good for the deal.

It’s cool how support on the PS2 HD will be dropped less than a year after it’s release.

The HDD wasn’t officially supported by Sony - It was Squeenixes toy. They have to adapt it.

Double that and Change $ CDN to £ GBR and you have a roughly Cannings return Price Policy for Games…

Big Nutter
I’ve NEVER Seen a PS2 HDD to buy in the UK. The X-Box is only console that has one in the UK that I know about.

The HDD for the PS2 would’ve just come out about 6 weeks ago there, Nutter. It’s exclusive to Final Fantasy XI.

the thing is i already did the deal and it didnt cost me a thing, and the hdd is in the process or whatever of being adapted…youd think there’d be some way to get the ps2 hooked to your computer and such…that’d rock

edit: oh and yes i hate EB… but this was the only way to get it without me paying anything.

Where do you get your information Crino? The HDD isn’t being adapted, in fact, SCEA has stated that the PStwo will not support the HDD. Apparently, all the HARDCORE gamers already have theirs.

FF11 is only in PC games sections in the UK… NOT PS2. I was planning to buy for PS2 if it came out.

The PStwo (the Small one) doesn’t have I.Link (or Firewire/IEE1333?) support, But then only GT3 is the only game that I know uses it, off hand.

“We are also looking into other memory options that would be compatible with the new PlayStation 2.”

i guess i more meant the fact that they “looking into” other options…either way… if i want ff11 ill just get it for pc

Is this the slimmed-down PS2 with around half the weight that I heard of a couple of months ago?

Newer models of the older PS2 don’t have the firewire either. No companies really supported it so there was no need for it.

TD, Sony isn’t looking for ways to adapt it, but Square Enix is.

well to each their own opinions i guess is the moral of this thread…one mans trash is another mans treasure, while one mans faith lets him eat meat another mans prohibits…i dont know where m goin with this…
