anyone got one yet? my friend has one and it spretty sweet, and im just wating for my ps2 to get into EB and for them to call me…any ideas on how long that’ll take?
Bah. No HDD and a flip-up top. I fail to see the advantages of this PSTwo except that it’ll work as an impromptu wobble-board.
Pros:
Fans don’t pick up as much dust.
Network adapter built in; saves you 50 bucks
Cons:
Top-Loading tray exposes laser, more likely to get dirty
No expansion bay for HDD
The spacing between the memory card and controller port has changed EVER SO SLIGHTLY that any old multi-tap will NOT fit.

It shouldn’t have even fit. I know I sold some guy a multi-tap, assuming Sony wouldn’t be stupid enough to change the location of the memory card slots relative to the controller slot.
This thing is just like the Gameboy Advance SP, just another waste of money on something that you already have.
I’m happy with the PS2 I have.
But, unlike the new PS2, the GBA SP provided something worthwhile in comparision to the old.
A flip screen and a light.

Also a built in rechargabel battery, that saves a shitload of money. Also, the backlight was REALLY needed. The original GBA was only really playable outside on bright days or right under a light source. The GBA SP is playabel anywhere and at anytime. The rechargable battery also last a million times longer. The flip screen is just nice since it helps to protect the screen, but it isn’t a big deal.
What infonick pointed out makes all the difference. There is no comparison between how the SP improved on the GBA vs how the pstwo improved over the ps2. I also thought the GBA looked like ass and the SP looked neat.

Oh crap… the SP did have that rechargable battery, didn’t it? I forgot all about that.
But I still say the new PS2 is just a waste of money if you already own a PS2, unless it’s fucked up like Gallo pointed out.
well see i wasnt gonna get one but then i talked to EB and they were like yeah if you bring in your old ps2 we’ll give you 100 dollars for it and you can trade up to 5 games at 10 bucks each, so i just went around getting crap games from people like sports games and such so it didnt cost me a thing… so no loss here just gain…but the offer ended like saturday… so yeah im just waitin for it to come in now
I thoguht it was against most stores policies to accept sports games, since those are almost literally a dime a dozen.
