WB and the director of Blade are supposed to be doing a live aciton version of Akira. Katsuhiro Otomo must be turning in his grave, if he’s dead. I’m not sure…
NO. BAD IDEA. Akira is a classic, and should be left as it is, without hollywood trying to make it ‘better’ ala Ringu and The Ring.

I think I’m going to gather opinions through that magical medium called Poll… I’m for the Evangelion live action, myself, although it’d be hard to make the plot work.
Already, the Akira film sucked.
So instead of seeing animated suckage, we’ll see live-action suckage.
And nothing can beat the fiasco that was the Street Fighter Live Action Movie. I mean, Raul Julia as an evil dictator? Hell, that film killed him! (It’s partially true, the SF live action movie was his last film before dying).
