The Final Saga

This has nothing to do with my precious anti-depressents! I mean…better get the amnesia ray.

Yes, I know it was a mess, but I had to get to it eventually. One of the reasons I was rushing through it was because I was unsatisfied with my original idea. Originally, she would have become a full human, but would still retain memories of the horrible things she did as an android, which would have eventually led to her comitting suicide. However, not only did this not mesh with her being a mercenary, but I also found it to be too cliche. Having the carpet pulled out from under her feet is not only funnier, but also more enjoyable to write, especially because it will allow me to expand upon her character in ways other than being a murderous, backstabbing bitch.

I know the chapter sucked, but to be honest, it always was going to. It was mostly closing the door on one plot thread, allowing me to concentrate fully on the Zero Hour arc. Once that’s done, I can throw everything behind finishing the saga and moving on with my life.

I didn’t say it sucked… I just how to make some comment about how weird it was.

And considering Paranoia Agent is one of my favorite animes, how could I hate it?

The Final Saga part 92: Fragile Alliance (Zero Hour, part 3)
By d_Galloway

Galloway’s concentration was broken at the sound of heavy boots approaching. Lenneth entered the small chamber, a small scroll in her hands. “It appears your lord has a small task for you,” she said, setting the scroll on the table.

“Seeing as how I’ve got a lot of studying to do, can you just tell me what’s going on?” Galloway’s eyes never left the Book of the Magnakai.

“It’s GOD,” said Lenneth. Galloway’s head flew up so quickly it practically snapped his neck. “He’s still alive, and has been visited by Naar’s forces. Apparantly, they plan to recruit him.”

“So, I just have to go into the future and kill what may very well be my evil, future self?” asked Galloway. “…Okay, how do I get there?”

Naar sat in his throne room, his faceless eyes locked on Nyarl. “Now, I understand that you have done nothing to retrieve Belladonna. Why do you disobey my orders?”

“Master, we have been searching for Mox!” shouted Nyarl. “Your armies have been taxed ever since our…setback on RPGC. We have not had the time to search for a foolish woman!”

“I would mind your tongue in the future, beast,” said Naar. “Remember, if not for her, you would still be a few shattered pieces of essence on a barren world.” He rose from his throne, taking up the black sword next to it. “Very well. Nyarl, return to your conquest of the planes. I have business to take care of elsewhere.”

Galloway quickly teleported into the ruins of a large city, which he vaguely recognized as RPGCity. All life in the city had long-since vanished, with only a few decomposed bodies and remains left behind to mark their passing. Galloway’s mind began to reel at the sheer amount of carnage, along with the natural accompanying thought: was GOD responsible for all this?

Just as quickly, his mind snapped back into the reality of the situation: GOD was still around, and Naar wanted him. Somehow, he had to kill GOD and, if need be, Naar himself…

Naar exited the shadow gate, which quickly closed behind him. He was now standing in a large city, most likely somewhere within RPGC’s future. The sheer brutality of the city’s destruction struck a cord with Naar; if he had a mouth, it was surely smiling at the thought of RPGC’s utter destruction. Perhaps he would be able to hasten its downfall…

His thoughts quickly returned to GOD. Whatever that being was, Naar was sure it was somehow connected with Galloway. If the two were working together, they would both suffer…

GG Crono and Heaven’s Soldier sat at the Task Force’s meeting table, while kiro played with Rio in the back, often against the hellhound’s will. Darkness Beckons made his way to the medical bay, where Mabat was just beginning to wake up. The two simply stared at their chess game, listening to the combined sounds of gunfire above and Tiger’s absolute bawling in the lab. “Did you remember to put the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign up?” asked Heaven’s Soldier.

“Of course I did!” said GG Crono. “Do you think I’m an idiot or something?” Heaven’s Soldier opened his mouth to speak, but quickly decided against it. “Besides, everyone already knows not to go within five miles of an emotional woman, especially if she’s an enraged cyborg. I’m sure nothing bad can happen in any-”

Meanwhile, Val 2 and Makko made their way to the lab, in hopes of examining the source of the screams…

Galloway continued to walk aimlessly around the city, taking in the absolute destruction he was surrounded by. His mind, however, constantly returned to any clues as to where GOD would be hiding. His initial searches of the city’s former pizza parlors, video arcades, and parking garages all turned up nothing, and there was no trace of Naar or Belladonna anywhere nearby. Finally, he found himself standing outside the original battlefield, where they had first faced GOD.

A sense of horrified nostalgia filled his senses, augmented by his improved kai abilities. He could still see and hear everything, even those events he was not there to see: Gemini’s death at GOD’s hands, Lani’s death, Mox’s damnation, Cougar’s murder. He could hear Yellow Tiger’s bones shattering, feel everyone’s horror at GOD’s true identity, his own elation at somehow triumphing over that…animal. As he unwillingly wandered closer and closer to the center of the valley, the visions became stronger, until they threatened to swallow every trace of his sanity.

As he approached a small pile of rubble, a new vision entered his mind, showing Naar approaching him from behind. Ignoring the vision, Galloway simply continued to approach the rubble, pulling the loose bricks aside with only a small amount of effort. Before he could get a good look at what was lying down there, the vision of Naar returned, only with much more alarming severity. Finally deciding to act on his sixth sense, he twisted to the side, just as Naar’s blade lunged towards where he was previously standing, shattering stone and steel alike.

Galloway’s face turned towards his attacker, who turned out to be nothing other than Naar himself. The kai lord quickly drew Skarn-skae and leveled his sword at the god of evil, as Naar followed suit. The opposite energies of the weapons cackled and seared against each other as the two stared each other down. “What is your purpose with this?” said Naar. “What have you done with Belladonna?”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” said Galloway. “Why are you trying to recruit GOD?”

“What are you talking about?” said Naar. “Belladonna was told to bring me a possible minion. She has not returned for days.”

“Days?” Galloway thought. “How long has Lenneth been torturing me?” “I’ve just been sent here to kill GOD. Kai thinks you were wanting him to join.”

“I have seen some of this…GOD’s work,” said Naar. “He would not be worthy of my ranks. He is too impulsive, too unpredictable, too dangerous to serve me loyally. I already have enough trouble keeping Nyarl in line; I do not need another madman.”

“Then why are you here?” asked Galloway.

“Have you not been listening?!” Naar’s faceless helmet burned bright red with rage. “Belladonna vanished while attempting to recruit him! I will not allow her to fall into the hands of some insane monstrosity!”

“…Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” asked Galloway.

“No, I refuse to agree to it,” said Naar. “I will never ally myself with Kai’s pathetic followers. I will destroy GOD myself.”

“I doubt you could,” said Galloway. “Unlike you, I’ve fought GOD before. I know how he works, how he fights, and how we can kill him once and for all. Unless you want to learn that the hard way, I recommend you accept any help you can find.”

Naar looked at Galloway, then back at his sword, then back at the Kai lord. “Very well, I shall stomach your presence for the time being. Lower your weapon.”

“Lower yours,” said Galloway.

The two continued to stare down each other for several minutes, before both finally lowered their weapons at the same time. Naar marched off in a rage, but Galloway stopped at the rubble once again, pulling out an ancient, stained sword from within.

THE END OF PART 92

Next time: Naar and Galloway vs GOD!

The Final Saga part 93: The Other End
By d_Galloway

Galloway and Naar continued to march across the ruins of RPGCity, the former trying his best to keep up with the long strides of the latter. “All right, Naar, how long are you going to string Belladonna along?” asked Galloway.

“Is your scope truly so limited?” said Naar. “Belladonna knows her place; she is my chief general, the leader of my religious followers, my chief engineer, and my right arm in magic. She knows that she can be disposed of if she displeases me.”

“And has she?”

“Since you crossed my path, she has spent her time defending a worthless planet, failed to kill you twenty times, disobeyed my orders and captured Agarash’s soul, failed to keep Nyarl in check, befriended your daughter, and is now captured by an ultra-powered mortal passing himself off as a god.”

“Whoa whoa whoa!” said Galloway. “What’s this about Belladonna and Maria?”

“I had Belladonna view possible timelines to gauge the success of our campaign,” said Naar. “Instead, she spent her allotted time doting on that…daughter of yours. She knew that the girl would become a Kai Lord, and did not even concern herself with bringing her to our side. She would be a wonderful asset.”

Galloway immediately dashed in front of Naar, drew Skarn-skae, and levelled it at Naar’s throat. “Never…NEVER speak about my daughter like that again!” Naar didn’t even respond; he simply stepped aside Galloway and continued to march down the road. Sighing heavily, Galloway sheathed his sword and continued after his arch-nemesis.

After another hour of tense silence, the two reached a large cave, tucked beneath what looked like the perfectly-arranged remains of a mountain. The two easily pushed aside several large boulders blocking the entrance, and they entered the cave, Galloway taking point for the first time since they joined forces. Deep within the cave, they could hear manic, frenzied laughter, growing gradually in pitch and volume. As they neared the end of the passage, the sound of someone struggling against something else.

Finally, they reached the end of the passage, which consisted of a large cavern, inside of which was little more than a small fire in the center, along with several battery lanterns hanging from the walls. Belladonna was tied flat against a wall, her mouth gagged to prevent her from screaming or chanting spells. She resumed her struggles as she saw the two, but stopped when a large shadow rushed from the other side of the cavern and slammed Galloway to the ground before he could draw any of his weapons.

Naar quickly threw the attacker off of Galloway, and attempted to follow his attack with a mid-air lunge, but the shadow parried the sword with his scythe, pushing the attack aside with seemingly only the slightest bit of effort. As it landed, Galloway managed to fully see his attacker, and instantly realized who it was…GOD.

“Ah, Galloway, how nice to see you again.”

Galloway quickly flipped back onto his feet. “How the hell are you alive? your guts were torn out, your brains were splattered, and you were without anything remotely resembling a pulse!”

“I was near death for some time,” said GOD. “Fortunately, our creator’s orders became impossible to ignore. You tried to merge with my body, hoping that you were powerful enough to control me. You were wrong.”

“Another miscalculation on your part, Galloway,” said Naar. “You seem to have a talent for such things.” The enraged look on Galloway’s face only further elated the God of Evil. Naar fired a bolt of black energy at GOD, who simply sliced it in half. Galloway fired a Kai Blast, which struck GOD head-on, but the being simply shrugged off the attack. Meanwhile, Belladonna continued to struggle against her bonds.

GOD melded back into the shadows before the two could respond. Galloway made his way to the right, while Naar made his way to the left, both intent on finding and defeating GOD before the other. As Galloway neared the far end of the cavern, his sixth sense went off yet again, alerting him to a rapidly approaching attack from behind. The Kai Lord twisted aside just as a scythe hurled past his head, cutting off a small lock of his hair.

Meanwhile, as Naar moved forward to examine the attack, several beams of blue, electic energy surged from several different areas on the walls. The god simply reflected them back with a shield spell, but the attacks only struck solid stone, plowing massive holes both above and below their points of origin. Meanwhile, Galloway reached for the scythe, but it suddenly snapped back, nearly tearing off his head; fortunately, Galloway managed to duck down at the last possible second.

Finally, GOD reemerged from the shadows, dropping from the ceiling and landing between the two. Galloway drew Skarn-skae and charged, while Naar raised his own sword and charged at GOD. Instead of dodging, GOD simply raised his hands, blowing both back with a massive surge of energy. As Galloway fell, Skarn-skae flew from his hands and embedded itself in the ceiling.

Naar recovered first, summoning a massive wave of dark energy and firing it at GOD. The being quickly guarded himself against the attack, throwing up an energy shield just before the attack hit home. When the dust cleared, GOD was completely undamaged. Meanwhile, Galloway drew his silver bow and fired an arrow at GOD’s back, only to have the arrow shatter against another energy shield.

“Don’t you see?” shouted GOD. “You have no chance of killing me again! You should have left when you had the chance!” Nevertheless, Naar struck at GOD again, slashing and thrusting at the being. GOD simply blocked the flurry of attacks, and quickly struck back, slicing GOD’s head off at the helmet. Galloway stared in blank horror as the helmet thudded against the ground, Naar’s body slumping to the ground. He knew he had no time to wait; he had to finish this fight now.

Sheathing all his weapons, Galloway charged forward, fist slamming against GOD’s backside. The being simply turned around, as if the attack was nothing more than an insect sting. Galloway followed his initial attack with several low body punches, accompanied by a roundhouse to the base of the neck. GOD, however, simply shrugged off the beginning attacks, and caught the roundhouse halway through its flight, countering with several blows to Galloway’s upper torso.

The Kai Lord crumbled to the ground, the blow practically smashing his neck. GOD raised his scythe, prepared to at last finish his younger self and end the battle forever…

Suddenly, a massive torrent of black slime slammed into GOD, sending him crushing into a wall. As the slime subsided, Galloway managed to get a look at his savior…and saw Naar’s body approaching the still-covered GOD, his helmet still in his hands, its red eyes still gleaming with life. Suddenly, the helmet melted away into a pool of black slime and moved up Naar’s arm, finally coming to rest on where his neck should be and reforming itself into its usual self.

GOD pulled free of the slime, his scythe raised. “How is this possible? I killed you!”

“My body is morphogenic,” said Naar. “I can mold it, project it, shape it, destroy it, and displace it as I see fit.” With a wave of his hand, the black slime raced from Naar and planted itself into his body once again, filling out several small spots in his armor. Galloway picked himself up from the ground and, using the momentary oversight to his advantage, flew up to his sword, pulled it from its place, and thrusted down, running GOD through the back.

At long last, the being fell to the ground, mortally wounded once again. As Naar made his way to the still-tied up Belladonna, Galloway touched his hand to GOD’s chest. “I cannot control this power, but perhaps I will someday,” he whispered. “I just need to make myself stronger than the last, and next time, it won’t have to end like this.”

Meanwhile, Naar and Belladonna exited the cave, the latter rendered temporarily blind by the bright light of a post-apocalyptic sky. “My love, what has happened during my abscence?”

“Kaizer is dead once and for all, Galloway’s female counterpart has gone mad, Mox has gone into hiding, Lone Wolf is continuing his desperate quest for the Lorestones, Ukko’s daughter is searching for freedom from her curse, and Loki is preparing to strike at long last.” Belladonna was simply stunned at what she had missed. “In any case, we have much to prepare for. I fear that, in our quest to rid ourselves of Galloway and Mox, our armies have been stretched too thin. We must embark on a new crusade, this time crushing every world in RPGC’s multiverse.”

“And then we strike RPGC itself!” said Belladonna.

“Yes. At long last, this war the fools take such pride in waging shall come to their shores. At last, they shall taste fear, and once every last one of them is cut down, I will slay Galloway and Lone Wolf themselves. The Order of the Kai shall be no more.”

Kai and Odin continued to look into the pool. “And what of this time?” said Odin. “Will Galloway conquer GOD’s will?”

“No,” said Kai. “He will struggle to become stronger, but he shall hit his peak, and that will not be enough to win a battle of wills with such a strong force. He shall lose, and be slain by his past self yet again. We have consigned him to a horrible fate.”

“Do not trouble yourself,” said Odin. “He chose this war. Now, he will have to pay the price for any hope of victory.”

As Galloway left the cave, he saw no sign of Naar or Belladonna. Instead, he saw Lenneth awaiting him. “You are to return to RPGC,” she said. “You have a great deal of business to attend to.”

“If you mean this ‘Maria and Belladonna’ issue, then it will be dealt with quite thoroughly,” said Galloway.

“No, it’s much worse,” said Lenneth. She handed Galloway a small burlap sack. “Open that once you reach home. In the mean time, try not to be too hard on the girl. She is Robyn’s daughter, after all.”

A shadow gate suddenly opened next to Galloway. He quickly jumped through, but not before planning just how badly he was going to smack Maria for her stupidity.

THE END OF PART 93
Next time: Galloway fights the Silver Age Superman…in a flashback! Plus, more of Alternate Poke’s muckery! AND…the return of Mary Sue?

Ooooooooooooooo, this just keeps getting better, I like it a lot Gallo. Keep up the good work.

Okay, chapter’s done. The next one will be up in a few days.

The Final Saga part 94: Mary Sue: The Awakening
By d_Galloway

Val 2 and Makko reached the lab door just as Glenton began to run out of ammo. Meanwhile, Darkness Beckons and Gemini continued to monitor F. Galloway, while the rest of the RPGC 2ers continued to work on their giant bedbug contraption. Poke and Mitchell were barricaded in the basement of the police station, Loki and Val were nowhere to be found, and the rest of RPGC was either captured, dead, or still busy on the Airship Shaheen Jim. All hoped seem to dim as the Galloway clones continued to pound blindly on the door.

GG Crono and Heaven’s Soldier sat impatiently in the cafeteria, sharpening their weapons while waiting for the horrible, horrible end to come. “When you imagined how you would die, did you ever think you were going to be crushed by an army of Galloways?” asked GG Crono.

“I did once,” said Heaven’s Soldier. “Then I decided I would rather die from rampant, non-stop sex.”

Suddenly, a shadow gate opened in the center of the cafeteria, and Galloway quickly lumbered through, a large package in his arms. Immediately, GG and HS grabbed their sharpened arms. “Dear god, they’ve discovered teleportation! Quick, before they kill us all!”

Weiila and Nel quickly left Sigil behind, having finished their very non-description-worthy adventures in that city. They now stood on a large stone platform, inside a massive black void. A series of stone staircases were raised in all directions, which led to identical platforms and staircases. “Well, this is where Tony the Tiger told us to find the timeless dimension,” said Weiila.

“Maybe we shouldn’t have trusted an advertisement mascot,” said Nel. “Still, he’s a lot more trustworthy than that wierd gray guy and floating skull.”

“Now…where the heck are we supposed to go?!” shouted Weiila.

Galloway finished wrapping the last of his many open cuts and wounds, while everyone else (including Tiger and excluding F. Galloway), gathered in the cafeteria, while the sound of pounding grew ever louder. “Okay, let’s go over all this one more time,” said Galloway. “Over the last few days, you guys saved RPGC 2?”

“Yes we did!” said Yar Kramer.

“And F. Galloway turned out to be a clone, AND also completely nutso?” asked Galloway.

“Uh…yeah,” said Gemini.

“And you guys ruined my former best friend’s only chance at regaining her humanity, all out of petty revenge?”

GG Crono and Heaven’s Soldier slowly nodded in the affirmative, while Yellow Tiger continued to sob and weep bitterly. “And now we have an army of clones of myself preparing to beat down the door?” said Galloway.

“Yeah, that’s pretty much it,” said Darkness Beckons.

“Well, apparantly I’m supposed to fix this whole mess, but…I don’t think I can.” Just then, Galloway remembered the bag he was carrying. After a few minutes of fighting with the opening, he pulled out a strange bottle of yellow liquid, with only two ominous words on the label: “Mary Sue.”

Meanwhile, Alternate Poke proved himself to be partially responsible for the atomic bombings of Japan at the end of the second World War. Cursing himself once again, he activated the time machine, hoping to hit the right spot this time.

Galloway, GG Crono, Heaven’s Soldier, Makko, Maria, and Trisha made their way into the lab, which was in complete ruins after Yellow Tiger’s latest tantrum. The once-proud soul gun was twisted into pieces, the new metallic tables overturned or broken in two, the fancy equipment smashed and ripped. “…What the hell happened in here?” asked GG Crono.

“Shouldn’t you know, you heartless bastard?” said Galloway. “But that’s not important. What IS important is figuring out why some ‘Essence of Mary Sue’ was given to me. Just how can this help us?”

“Just what is a ‘Mary Sue?’” asked Makko.

“Mary Sue was an old enemy of this RPGC,” said Heaven’s Soldier. “She was perfectly beautiful and intelligent, physically capable of tearing cars in half, and completely immune to damage. She was killed by the only force in the universe more powerful than her: a deus ex machina.”

“So…what, do we just…drink it or something?” asked Trisha.

“If Mary Sue was perfectly intelligent, then she would be able to come up with a solution for our little problem,” said Maria.

“Exactly, future daughter,” said Galloway. “But there’s no way of knowing what’ll happen after we use it. So…who wants to be the guinea pig?” Immediately, there was a great silence, as everyone slowly drew back from Galloway and the liquid. Finally, the saiyan/kai lord let out a great sigh. “Fine, I guess I’ll do it.”

Even as Maria was moving in to stop him, Galloway downed the entire potion. After a few seconds, nothing happened. A minute later, still nothing happened. Still, everyone continued to back away, as if afraid that Galloway could explode at any moment. Finally, Galloway let out another sigh. “Okay, that was a waste. I don’t feel any smarter or prettier or-”

Suddenly, his entire body began to shake violently, as his skin turned a ghastly greenish hue. Galloway stumbled behind an overturned table, only to fall over and become completely hidden by the metallic surface. After several seconds of agonizing screams, Galloway emerged from behind the table…only he know had the exact appearance of Mary Sue, down to the perfectly large boobs and physically impossible hair.

“…Dad?” asked Maria.

“Like, yeah!” said Mary Sue. “Don’t worry, I know who I am, I know what’s going on. I just…had to go through a few changes to get this to work, k?” The entire room, however, had already fallen so in love with her that her words simply swam around in their minds. “…Okay, if you’re not going to pay attention, please leave. I have a lot of strategy to plan, and only twenty minutes to finish it.”

The girls stayed behind, while GG Crono and Heaven’s Soldier quickly left the room. It wasn’t until after they had slipped through the double doors that they realized they had nearly screwed what was technically a female Galloway; the mere thought of it sent them running for the showers, for what they hoped would be a long, cold shower.

Wilfredo 2 found himself standing in a large, golden gazebo, surrounded on all sides by massive arrays of lights and sounds, many of which would blind an average mortal with sheer beauty. There was no normal entrance or exit to the strange realm; only through the use of his cicida could Wil 2 enter or exit the gazebo, unless he wanted to be torn apart by the etheral energies surrounding him.

Suddenly, a voice boomed out from all directions. “Greetings, Wilfredo Martinez. It has been too long since we last met. Is this the first time you have actively sought me out?”

“I think it is,” said Wil 2. “I received a note from a man named Lone Wolf. It only showed your symbol. Is something wrong?”

“As you know, our old nemesis has returned,” said the voice. “However, there is more at stake here. Nyarl is normally weakened by being too far from the soul collective, something that allowed you to briefly destroy him. Naar, however, draws his powers from all evil, anywhere in the multiverse, and even then he has no need to constantly sustain himself.”

“So, if Nyarl gets a hold of the same power source as Naar, then he’ll be unstoppable?” asked Wil 2.

“Unfortunately, universes of pure good are far fewer than worlds of pure evil,” said the voice. “But Nyarl’s movements confuse even me. The chance to seize this power has presented itself many times in the past several weeks, but he has never acted upon it. It would make sense if he feared Naar’s power, but in his arrogance he sees Naar as only an inconvenience. Your alternates might be able to aid you in this investigation.”

“But…how?” asked Wil 2. “Every single thing I’ve seen then do has been an abomination to all that is good and decent in this multiverse! Especially that leacherous drunkard that doubles for myself.”

“DO NOT SPEAK OF HIM LIKE THAT!” shouted the voice. Wil 2 cowered in fear from the sheer force of its tone. “He, like you, is one of my chosen. Unlike you, however, he does not cover up his mistakes, like that flawed calculation.”

“But…that’s impossible,” said Wil 2.

“Return to their dimension,” said the voice. “They can tip the balance of this cosmic war, but they cannot do it alone.”

“So…you’re a girl now?” asked Trisha.

“Yep!” said Mary Sue. “Now if you excuse me, I have to look over my mistake when I fought the Silver Age Superman.”

(FLASHBACK: Metropolis, 1965)

Galloway and Superman stared at each other, the former having masqueraded as a supervillian in hopes of defeating Superman. Five seconds later, Galloway was near-death, having been pummeled into submission by a single blow from Superman.

(PRESENT DAY)

“Oh, those were the days!” said Mary Sue. “Too bad I wasn’t a SSJ back then; I would have kicked his Kryptonian ass!”

Makko quickly facepalmed herself. “I can’t believe-”

(SUDDEN ENDING!)

THE END OF PART 94
Next time: Mary Sue reveals the horrible truth about the universe…

Damn, Galloway has now become a fully fledged Mary Sue.

That can’t be good. But then again he is on our side, so I guess only time, will tell how this will play out.

Ok, I get first dips to hit him with the Deus Ex Machina!

Bwahahaha! Galloway vs. Superman!

The Final Saga part 94.5: Filler Chapter
By d_Galloway

Glenton fired the last of his rifle rounds, and yet the Galloway clones continued to pound at the gates. The thief desperately searched his pockets, ammo crates, and weapons rack for any sort of ammunition, only to find himself absolutely cleaned out. Cursing his misfortune, and with no other way to escape, he grabbed his Dragon’s Tooth sword and ducked next to the bunker’s entrance, waiting for the door to finally come down. The rest of the men and women of RPGC still in the bunker made their way to join him, led by the RPGC Task Force, then by the people of RPGC 2, and finally by everyone else.

Meanwhile, the sheer pressure placed on the door began to warp it out of shape; it was obvious it would not hold much longer.

Mary Sue continued to write away at what was left of a small desk, seemingly cut neatly in two during Yellow Tiger’s rampage. The remaining people in the room either stared in continuing shock at the woman that was once Galloway. “…Why are we here?” asked Trisha.

“Insurance,” said Mary Sue.

“…What now?” asked Makko.

“I’m writing down the absolute best ways of handling the problems here,” said Mary Sue. “Only…I can’t figure out anything about Naar. There’s just, like, something blocking that thought process.”

“And how do we factor into this?” asked Maria.

“I need someone to help remember all this,” said Mary Sue. “I’m such a complete idiot, I can barely remember my brother’s name, much less a non-overly complicated system of events and circumstances.”

With that, the other three decided to leave Mary Sue alone, trying to fight the immense attraction they felt for the strange, unworldly woman.

A pair of Vordaks stood in front of Belladonna’s tower chambers, magic spears at the ready, eyes forever locked forward in case their mistress returned early. After what seemed like an eternity, Belladonna finally entered the long passageway and approached the guards. Without even a cue, they parted, allowing for Belladonna to push open the doors and enter her study.

A few minutes later, Belladonna appeared again, only back at the entrance to the hallway. The Vordaks looked about in confusion as their mistress returned, a feeling that the saiyan also felt. “What’s wrong with you two skeletal freaks?”

“My mistress, we just saw you enter your chambers but a few moments ago!” said a Vordak.

Without even a word, Belladonna slammed open the doors. Her chambers were now in complete ruin, book cases and scroll cases overturned, tables smashed, chemical vials shattered. However, one change was immediately noticible: the orb containing Agarash’s soul was gone.

“Okay, I’m all done!” said Mary Sue. “And with only a minute to spare!”

The other three girls broke from their conversation about the implications of ethnic and gender discrimination upon a post 9/11 world and returned their attention to Mary Sue. The symbol of perfection handed each of them a single page of paper, pocketed one for herself. “Alright, just remember to give them to myself, and-”

Suddenly, Mary Sue doubled over in pain, as her skin turned a sickly green. Grutning and groaning in agony, she managed to pull herself behind a desk. After several more minutes, Galloway reemerged, a complete male once again. “Damn, that’s one experience I REALLY don’t want to go through again.”

“Uh…dad?” said Maria. “We’re supposed to give you some…”

Galloway quickly snatched the papers and ran out of the room. The three looked at each other, and then followed him.

The front door of the bunker finally began to strain against the bolts. The people of RPGC crouched in preperation for the end…

THE END OF PART 94.5
The end of a filler episode? Hurrah!

Has finally caught up Okay, great chapter. ^^

The Final Saga part 95: The End (zero hour, part 2)
By d_Galloway

As the Galloways continued to pound on the wall, the rest of RPGC continued to aim their weapons, in preperation for a zerg rush of absolute carnage and death. Only Mengde stayed in the back, leveling a gun to the back of Tiger’s neck in case she had any more bright ideas about betraying them. Finally, a hole appeared in the metal, and several hands and arms reached in to peel apart the metal. At last, the Galloway clones charged through the hole, mere minutes from rending through flesh…

Suddenly, the real Galloway appeared between the two armies, armed raised in a command to halt. To everyone’s complete surprise, the clones immediately stopped their bloodthirsty attack and stared at Galloway. “It’s him!” shouted one. “It’s the original!”

“Galloway, what the hell are you doing?” asked TrkJac.

“Finding a peaceful solution for once,” said Galloway. “Now, let’s get this all settled. First off, who are you clones?”

A single clone emerged from the crowd. He was an almost exact copy of Galloway in his normal armor, only with his right eye shot out as if by a sniper round. From the back, Glenton cursed his misfortunate shot. “My lord, we are clones of yourself, created by genetic material gathered by Dr. Kaizer during a previous encounter with him.”

“So, that would mean you’d be saiyans instead of humans, that’s just great,” said Galloway. “Second question. Why are you attacking?”

“Dr. Kaizer was killed,” said the clone. “We were ordered to destroy the homes of those that murdered him. It’s in our very blood.”

“What the hell are we waiting for?” shouted Crotanks. “Let’s kill them and be done with it!”

“SHUT UP!” said Galloway. “Third question. Why did you stop?”

“Because you are our parent, our creator,” said the clone. “Our DNA is the same as yours, only minus any minor alterations since the sample was collected. And since the genetic materials used have almost completely eroded, and we are all created sterile, you are our only hope of continuing our race.”

“Well, I have no intention of punching a planet into a square shape,” said Galloway. “But here’s what I’ll do. If you clean up the mess you made, and promise not to cause any more trouble, I’ll let you live here until we find a more suitable arrangement.”

Almost immediately, everyone behind Galloway ignited with rage. “THIS IS NOT YOUR DECISION, GALLOWAY!” shouted Sinistral. “These bastards are nothing but-”

“IF YOU DO NOT SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH, YOU LONG-HAIRED PIECE OF SHIT, I’LL WRITE YOU OUT OF THIS ENTIRE FUCKING STORY, SO HELP ME GOD!” shouted Galloway. All of RPGC suddenly backed off, not so much out of fear of Galloway as of his strange comments about a “story.” Now satisfied, Galloway returned to the clone army. “I would recommend you get to work.”

Sure enough, the clones all ran off, now having a new home. Having attended to the first problem, Galloway turned to the crowd behind him. “Now, for problem number two…”

Nyarl finally reached the soul collective, unwrapping the orb as he approached the green, glowing funnel of energy. He raised the orb above his head, chanting in a demonic tongue all the while. Soon, he would have all the power in existance.

At long last, Galloway found his way into the medical wing. F. Galloway’s stasis chamber stood silently before him, a grim testament to the horror of his own existance, as well as everyone that had fallen because of him. Pushing back the emo thoughts, Galloway activated the chamber’s thawing mechanism. Within a few minutes, the chamber was completely unfrozen.

A few minutes later, her eyes slowly opened, only to widen at the site of Galloway. “You!” She leaped from the chamber with so much force that she completely shattered the chamber’s glass door, sending shards of deadly glass raining everywhere. Her leap slammed Galloway to the ground, the force of the blow knocking the wind out of him. She grabbed a nearby shard, perfectly jagged like a knife. “It’s all your fault! It’s all your fault!”

The knife inched very closer to Galloway’s face, the male saiyan finding himself unable to fight off his female counterpart’s insane rage. Mustering every last inch of strength in his body, Galloway summoned a kaioken times two and pushed F. Galloway off, sending her flying onto some beds.

Before she could stand back up, Galloway raced over to the nearby control panel and pressed a blue button. Several metal restraints slammed shut around her waist, wrists, and ankles, effectively trapping her in place. “Now listen to me!” said Galloway. “The clones explained everything. To be honest, however, I already figured it out a year ago!”

“WHAT?!” shouted F. Galloway.

“I mean, when we visited your world, it was far too recently abandoned to account for our age,” said Galloway. “Plus, I found the fact that your world was in our ‘dark side of the universe’ to be a bit puzzling. But enough about that. The point is, I don’t want to have to deliver another sappy, confusing speech meant to only drive the plot forward.”

“…Plot?” asked F. Galloway. “And I’M the crazy one?”

“Quiet,” said Galloway. “All right, I have no choice. Just because everything you’ve thought to be true is a lie doesn’t mean you have to surrender completely. You chose the easy way, giving in to Dr. Kaizer and surrendering your free will simply because you couldn’t think of another way out. There’s often another way, if you have the will to look for it.”

“That makes absolutely no sense,” said F. Galloway. “What am I supposed to do? Just keep living a lie?”

“Is the lie any worse than the truth?” asked Galloway. “Think about it. Here, people give a damn about you. Haven’t you seen the way my brother acts around you?” Both exchanged a wierd glance. “You helped the RPGCPD kill the Meat King and saved the world from some British assholes. You were a big hand during the fights with Naar and GOD. Hell, you even helped us fight that Gatekeeper! And let’s not forget your wonderful trip to Rock Gorge.”

F. Galloway smiled slightly. “Yeah, that was pretty fun, for a hole in the ground.”

“The point is, just lie down here and cool off,” said Galloway. “I’ll be back in a few hours with some sesame noodles and garlic bread.” With that, he left the medical wing.

Weiila and Nel continued to stand on the platform for several minutes, before a series of stone platforms appeared in front of them, creating a staircase that stretched into the depths of space. Sighing, the two climbed the staircase, only to find themselves on another platform…

Staring into the eyes of a woman in her early thirties. “Hello, children. Welcome to the ‘Realm Beyond Time.’”

“Nice place you have here,” said Nel. “By the way, who are you?”

“You should know me already,” said the woman. “My name is Nelimar.”

“Wow, imagine that!” said Nel. “My name is-” Finally, realization hit her like a sledgehammer on a watermelon.

Galloway escorted Yellow Tiger, GG Crono, and Heaven’s Soldier into the lab, making sure the doors were locked behind him. “Alright, you two have a lot of explaining to do.”

“Why should we bother?” said GG Crono.

“First off, Tiger?” said Galloway. “Explain what happened.”

Now much calmer, Yellow Tiger started her monologue. “I was hired by Dr. Kaizer to make sure Naar was destroyed, in exchange for my soul. Halfway through the operation, however, he ordered me to give the defense grid information to Naar, promising my soul sooner.”

“See?” said Heaven’s Soldier. “She sold us out! She deserved what she got!”

“I’ve dealt with Kaizer a LOT more than you two have,” said Galloway. “He can be very…persuasive at times.”

“Then, I got my soul back after a rescue mission,” said Tiger. “Only these two purpously screwed up the transfer so I would only get the emotional changes, and not the physical alterations.”

Galloway looked at the two very, very coldly. “Is this true?”

“Like we said, YES!” said GG Crono. “But-”

“You mean, you cold-heartedly enacted revenge by destroying my ex-girlfriend’s only chances of becoming a human being, and therefore no longer under the control of the man who was offering her the soul?” asked Galloway.

“Well, yes, but- wait, did you say ‘controlled?’” asked Heaven’s Soldier.

“Dr. Kaizer has mental programming installed on every single one of his creations,” said Galloway. “How do you think I stopped that army of clones? They were simply programmed to obey my commands. The same thing could have happened to Tiger; half of her mind is blindly loyal to Kaizer, which was why I purpously avoided her for a year.”

“Now that you mention it, she DID mention having another personality to kill,” said Heaven’s Soldier.

“You simply acted out of mindless revenge, not justice,” said Galloway. “Just remember to rationalize from now on, and we’ll be fine, and I won’t have to shove a chainsword up your ass. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have one more problem to solve.”

Galloway stood silently outside the bunker, staring at the overcast sky. He knew what this meant: the end of everything may very well be near. Trisha ran out with him. “What’s going on?”

“Trisha, the multiverse will soon die,” said Galloway.

“Wh-What are you talking about?” asked Trisha.

“Mary Sue saw it,” said Galloway. “She saw a way for everyone to be saved, and for everything to be restored soon after its destruction. But for it to work, someone will have to die, enemies will have to become allies, and I have to speak to the one person who can help us.”

Suddenly, a shadow gate opened. Galloway started his way into the vortex. “Who can help us?!” she shouted.

Galloway didn’t even stop. “My real world self.” With those parting words, he vanished through the portal, while the entire world was rocked with explosions. Almost immediately, everything was annihilated in a massive flash of white light, leaving absolutely nothing in its wake.

Suddenly, the Realm Beyond Time was rocked by an explosion. “What just happened?” asked Weiila.

“Don’t worry,” said the older Nel. “It has been ordained that this will come to pass. Now, let’s get to work on our end, and help both our little angel and our friends!”

As Wil 2 was about to leave, the cicida vanished in a display of light. “Wh-What the hell just happened?”

“It has begun,” said Philemon. “The final battle between humanity’s good and humanity’s evil. There will soon be others, but first, we must prepare for the coming battle.”

THE END OF PART 95
Note: This is not the end. Far from it, in fact!

Gallo-Note: Guess who the “chosen” warriors are, and win a prize!

Damn, the whole universe just blew up? Well at least that saves me and GG, from the chainsword. That would have been unpleasant.

But the fact that Galloway is going to go see his real world self, now that should be different.

The Final Saga part 96: The Fourth Wall
By d_Galloway

Galloway stumbled through the other end of the shadow gate, now deposited in the center of a long-abandoned gas station. The buildings around him were collapsed and ruined, burnt husks of their former glory. Around him bustled a seemingly endless barrage of cars, all of which bellowed out far more smog than the vehicles of RPGC were ever capable of. Coughing with disgust at the pollution around him, Galloway dusted himself off and started towards what he hoped was his real world alternate’s house.

Weiila, Nel and adult Nel made their way down another instantly-appearing pathway. All around them, enormous swirling vortexes appeared and dissapeared, spitting out and sucking in all manners of people and objects. “Just what the heck happens here?” asked Weiila.

“Not much,” said adult Nel. “To be brutally honest, there’s no people here, either. I’m just a shadowy projection of Nelimar’s inner self, advanced several years in age and mannerisms and spat out as a illusionary guide for you two.”

“But…will we run into another Weiila?” asked Nel.

“Probably,” said adult Nel. “This is my first time here, remember? Of course, not everyone would appear as themselves in the future; they could just-”

Suddenly, a fourty-year-old Weiila approached the group, her wings vastly larger than even the real Weiila’s, her face lined with the kind of aging only thrusted upon people with kids. In her hands was a two-year-old, wingless Weiila. The three only stared in absolute horror at the sight.

After nearly an hour of walking, Galloway finally took a seat on a small, green mesh bench, cursing his luck. “Damn it, why is it so hard to find ANYTHING in this fucking city?!” he shouted. He prepared to apologize to the endless hordes of “children’s rights” groups that would descend upon him for daring to swear in public, but none came. In fact, nobody seemed to notice what the strange man with a tail had said, pausing only to briefly stare at him before moving on.

“Well, this is getting me nowhere,” said Galloway. “I need to find this guy, NOW!” With that, he picked himself off the bench and waited for some deus ex machina to come whisk him away to his target location. After a few minutes, he realized nothing was going to happen, and rather than risk flying off and bringing attention to himself, started walking once again.

As Wil 2 continued to meditate on the meaning of life, the universe, and everything, a series of black tendrils appeared from out of nowhere. The black things continued to merge and expand, until they took the form of a tall, meancing armored figure: Naar. Wil 2 raised his staff in preperation for an attack, but Naar merely looked around the void. “Philemon! Nyarlathotep! Show yourselves now!”

“What are you doing here?!” shouted Wil 2.

Naar lowered his gaze at Wil 2, seemingly noticing him for the first time. “It is amazing that you’re still alive, Martinez, especially after your foolhardy attempt to defeat me. Nyarlathotep has always been a mere gnat compared to my power.”

“I don’t know how you survived Nyarl’s attack on the universe, but-”

“Ah yes, our current situation,” said Naar. “Since it appears your master has chosen to remain silent, I shall merely have to wait for his response. Now, lower your weapon. It annoys me.”

Finally, after nearly exhausting himself to death, Galloway managed to reach his real world self’s house. Finding that nobody was around, Galloway snuck his way to one of the windows, pried off a fire screen, and forced open the window. Now past the dirty grime of the window, the saiyan kai lord managed to look into the small, dirty, poorly-kept bedroom. Sitting at a computer desk was who he assumed to be his real world self, typing away busily on a computer.

Praying for some good luck for once, Galloway stealthily climbed through the window, being careful to avoid the half-eaten bag of potatoe chips lying suspiciously close to the window. His real self was still busy on the computer, completely ignorant to the growing danger coming from behind. Finally, Galloway was close enough to spin the chair around. As he did so, and stared at his freaked-out real world self, he wished he hadn’t bothered to make the trip.

Suddenly, another portal opened, and Gemini tumbled through, the Phoenix Staff tumbling to the ground in front of him. Wil 2 quickly helped him to his feet, while Naar continued to stare in cold indifference. “Wh-What the heck is this?” gasped the mage.

“I know this power! He is near! He must DIE!”

Suddenly, the phoenix’s power flew from the staff and into Gemini once again, only this time it was far more forceful. After a few seconds of pain and absolute agony, the Phoenix retook control of his host. “PHILEMON! COME OUT AND FACE ME!”

“What the hell!” shouted Wil 2.

“YOU TRAPPED ME IN THIS GEM, FORCED ME TO USE THIS HOST! SHOW YOURSELF NOW, AND YOUR DEATH SHALL BE QUICK!”

A voice quickly began to ring from all directions. “I see that thousands of years of confinement have taught you nothing. If I did not find some value in your hostage’s life, I would force you from him right now. Instead…”

Suddenly, a beam of energy surged from the center of the gazebo and slammed into Gemini. He collapsed to his knees as the flames around his eyes flickered and died, and he returned to his rightful place. “Ohh…my damn body…”

“What?! But…how?”

“I have granted you somewhat stronger control over your darker side,” said the voice. “Hopefully, you will learn how to control yourself more effectively. But for now, let us all wait…”

Galloway raised a dagger to his alternate’s throat. “Wh-Wh-Who are you?” asked the real Galloway.

“I’m you, punk!” said Galloway. “Now let’s cut the whole badass thing and get to business! I figured it all out!”

“Fi-Figured what out?” asked the real Galloway.

“You’re the one that created us!” said Galloway. “You write the damn tales, pulling us around like puppets! I’m not going to stand for it anymore!”

The real Galloway was obviously confused. “Wait, you mean…you’re from the stuff I wrote?”

“Boy, I’m an idiot in this world,” groaned Galloway. “Anyway, I want you to end it now. You know, kill off Naar, save the universe, maybe score me a hot chick, whatever! Just give us a happy ending for once!”

“Su-Sure, whatever!” said the real Galloway. With that, he turned back to his computer and started typing again, his own seeming creation leaning over his shoulder. He hammered out a story where Naar suddenly died for no reason, all evil was erased from the multiverse, and Galloway and Weiila hooked up for a long night of dirty loving. Finally, the ending complete, Galloway pulled out the small dimensional monitor he had pawned off Wil 2 and looked up his RPGC.

To his horror, it was still missing, its entry simply reading, “Erased due to temporal/dimensional fluctuation.” “WHAT? It didn’t work!”

“…I have no idea what’s going on,” said the real Galloway.

Another portal opened, and Lone Wolf and Wil stepped through. “Wait…is this the Dazrian?” asked Wil.

“Strange,” said Lone Wolf. “I did not expect the gate to change directions in the middle of a journey.”

The voice boomed once again. “Greetings. There is a great deal of urgency in our situation. We must wait for the others to come.”

Naar looked at Lone Wolf, his eyes simply locked on the warrior. Wil 2, meanwhile, locked his eyes on his alternate self. Both dissaproved of the other’s presence, but none bothered to move or act out in any way.

Galloway looked back at his calculations, furiously trying to figure out what went wrong. “I was Mary Sue when I planned these! She never makes mistakes!”

“Wait, a Mary Sue?” asked the real Galloway. “Well, I might be wrong here, but doesn’t a Mary Sue make mistakes only when it would provide a massive amount of drama, and would be hyped to the point of excess, like what’s happening right now?”

“You mean…could we still be in the story?” asked Galloway. “Could this still all be a lie?”

“Maybe, I have no idea,” said the real Galloway. “But while-”

Suddenly, Galloway’s eyes lit up when he saw something sitting on the computer desk. “Hey, you have Deep Space Nine on DVD?! Damn, are you…rich or something?”

“Uh…who are you?” asked Nel.

“I’m Weiila,” said the adult Weiila. “And this is Weiila. And…there’s another Weiila…okay, this is getting wierd.”

“Tell me about it,” said Weiila.

After a lengthy few hours of Deep Space Nine watching and philosophical discussion, Galloway finally climbed off the real Galloway’s bed. “Okay, this plan failed miserably, but I guess it’s my fault in a sense.”

“Well…yeah,” said the real Galloway. “Maybe you’re not really the product of an overactive imagination. Perhaps it’s just a subconscious link between our worlds that fuels the crap I write.”

“As implausible as your ‘subconscious link’ theory is, it sure is a lot more hopeful than being merely the dream of some guy. Well, see you around! And keep writing, or I’ll come back and kill you while you sleep!”

The real Galloway waved and laughed nervously, while Galloway climbed out the window, returned the fire screen, and activated a portal to the Heavens.

Suddenly, another portal opened, spitting out Kerr and another guy. “Alright, now where the hell are we?” asked the other guy.

“And you are?” asked Wil.

“Ryelandt,” said the guy. “And you must be the past Wilfredo Martinez.”

“You mean you’re from the future?” asked Gemini.

“Well…kinda,” said Kerr.

Finally, another portal opened, spitting out Galloway. “At last, everyone is gathered,” said the voice. “Now, it shall begin!”

THE END OF PART 96

Sorry about the double post.

The Final Saga part 97: Nyarlathotep: Master of Reality
By d_Galloway

The gathered heroes (plus villain) continued to stand in the gazebo, looking about in absolute confusion. “What the hell is all this?” asked Ryelandt.

“Nyarlathotep has stolen the soul of Agarash the Damned,” said Philemon. “With the inherent evil within, he was able to enter the soul continuum itself, making himself the master of time and space across the entire multiverse. Now he plans to destroy all of existance with a few broad strokes.”

“So…everyone’s dead?” asked Galloway.

“No,” said the voice. “Fortunately, I forsw this possibility and called upon some allies in another dimension…”

After encountering countless versions of themselves and their close families, Weiila, Nel and adult Nel finally reached a large platform. Despite the disorienting effects of the dimension, they felt like they were standing in the center of the dimension. On the platform was a wooden post, on which was a large lever. “Go ahead, pull it,” said Adult Nel. “It will be of some importance to everyone.”

“…Sonds like a trap, but…whatever,” said Weiila. She jumped up and pulled the switch down. With a loud click, the entire post lowered itself into the ground, as a series of rainbow-colored lightning storms rained over the entire platform. Lightning struck the ground repeatedly; with every blast, more and more of RPGC began to appear, from the people to significant regions and places. Before long, practically the entire world began to appear.

“Consider this to be like ‘backing up your hard drive,’” said Adult Nel. “And now that this is over, let’s get to work on curing you!”

“Why did you even ressurect Nyarl, Naar?” asked Wil 2. “You seem like a semi-intelligent force of unspeakable evil; why bring in a being known for treachery?”

“He was never destroyed, fool!” said Naar. “He was only reduced to a vastly weakened state, so that he could no longer hold physical form. Belladonna merely empowered him enough with my own brand of evil, so much so that he was able to evolve to a more powerful state than before.”

“And in so doing, inherited some of Naar’s properties,” said the voice. “Before, Nyarlathotep could be defeated by merely cutting him off from his power source, but Naar absorbs any and all evil, anywhere in the multiverse. Not only did Nyarlathotep gain a new body, but he became less dependant on humanity’s evil.”

“And Naar must have known that the other RPGC was the easiest place to stage an assault on the Gatekeepers,” said Lone Wolf. “It would have been easy to unleashe Nyarlathotep on a place responsible for his many defeats.”

“Look, as much as I love this little chat, we need to stop this guy!” said Kerr.

“Agreed,” said Wil.

“Very well,” said Philemon. “You must destroy Nyarlathotep and prevent him from destroying all of existance. However, in his current state, he is more than powerful enough to crush you all. Just remember, it’s all a matter of time…” Columns of light surrounded each of the participants. “Farewell, my chosen one…Farewell, Wilfredo Martinez.”

Columns of light appeared around a tall, green spiral of energy, finally closing as the forms of the warriors rematerialized. The green energy was filled with what seemed to be screaming, tortured souls, many of which were wailing miserably. Others, however, seemed to be more withdrawn, accepting their fate. “So, this is the soul collective,” said Gemini.

“Looks like something out of Mortal Kombat,” said Galloway.

“Come out, Nyarl!” shouted Wil 2. “Stop hiding from us!”

“HIDING? FROM YOU?! HARDLY!”

Nyarl’s gargoyle form emerged from the vortex, now glowing with a gren and red aura. His sheer power was almost crushing; all except Wil 2 and Naar took a few steps back as he landed. “AS YOU CAN SEE, I HAVE CHANGED. I AM MORE THAN A LESSER GOD. NOW, I AM THE SUPREME RULER OF REALITY! YOU FOOLS HAVE NO CHANCE!”

Without even a word, everyone drew their weapons and readied for the coming battle…

THE END OF PART 97
Galloway: HEY! Where’s the fight?
The narrator knows, but he’s not going to tell you!
Galloway: Why?
Because he’s an asshole!

At last, I hope that the rising action of the ultimate climax has begun.

I hope that you return to the saga soon; I want to see whether my predictions of how the climax will unfold will be correct.

The Final Saga part 98: A Hopeless War
by d_Galloway

The chosen warriors stood in horror as the now all-powerful Nyarl stood silently before them. Finally, their target broke the silence by raising the orb containing the soul of Agarash. “HOW PATHETIC OF YOU, NAAR, TO THROW AWAY SUCH A USEFUL TOOL. AT LEAST BELLADONNA UNDERSTOOD MY WORDS.”

“Failure is failure,” said Naar. “Agarash had Magnamund in the palm of his hand, and he allowed those pathetic Magicians of Dessi to destroy him. The Darklords conquered all except Sommerlund, and it took only a single Kai Lord to destroy them. And you, like all failures and traitors, will be destroyed!”

Naar took the offensive first, charging headlong into the newly-powered Nyarl. The god of humanity’s evil simply sent him flying backwards with a single flick of his wrist, sending the evil god crashing into the ground. Both Wils threw every spell they knew at the being at once, but it simply shrugged off the attacks and blasted them both with a beam of black energy, rendering them unconscious. Lone Wolf and Galloway both threw Kai Blasts and Kai Rays, but Nyarl managed to dodge the attacks easily and blasted both to the ground with several fireballs.

Kerr fired a barrage of ki blasts, but the attacks vanished before even reaching Nyarl, who grabbed the catboy by the throat and threw him back into the ground, knocking him out cold. Ryelandt grabbed ahold of a familiar spear, but was blasted by another beam before he could throw it. Gemini threw a storm of fire at the evil god, but the attacks did nothing, and Nyarl swatted him aside like a fly. It seemed like there was no hope left…

Weiila and Nel continued to follow a series of dopplegangers through various corridors and floating passageways, their surroundings growing ever darker and more clouded. Finally, they were stumbling about in total darkness. “Nelimar!” shouted Weiila. “Where are you?”

“I have no idea!” shouted Nelimar. “And you?”

“Same here!” said Weiila. “What the hell are we-”

Suddenly, there was an enormous blast of light, engulfing the two. When they finally grew brave enough to open their eyes, they were now standing in a pure white dimension, despite there being absolutely no visible ground beneath them. Sitting in front of them was an old man, dressed in a pure white outfit and with a long, flowing white beard. He was sitting in a meditative position, his legs crossed, his head bent, his eyes closed. “…God?” asked Weiila.

“No, but a reasonable facsimile,” said the old man, not even bothering to raise his head or eyes. “You are the cursed goddess, are you not?”

Nel looked at Weiila in shock. “You’re a goddess?”

“Long story, I’ll tell you later,” said Weiila. “Can you reverse it?”

“Not until we have access to the Soul Collective,” said the old man. “Your allies are currently fighting the dark god Nyarlathotep, but they have no hope of winning by themselves.”

Naar and Wil 2 both pulled themselves up at the same time, the latter’s body badly bruised, the former seemingly unfazed. “THE LITTLE BUG STILL STANDS!” laughed Nyarl. “I WAS THINKING THIS WOULD BE A JOKE!”

“You…will…never…win!” growed Wil 2. He threw a series of magic missiles, accompanied by several fireballs, ice spells, lightning spells, and meteors. The resulting blast slammed into Nyarl with the force of eighteen nuclear explosions, and when the smoke cleared, Nyarl looked to be shaken, but not badly injured. The wind force awoke Wil, who upon seeing what his mirror companion had done, immediately followed suit, blasting Nyarl with the same spell, only adding in wind gales and stone spells. When the smoke cleared, Nyarl seemed to be winded, but was still seemingly unharmed.

Naar charged at Nyarl while he was dizzy, slashing him across the waist and chest before blasting a charge of energy through the ground, sending Nyarl flying high into the air. Galloway returned to consciousness, gave the Silver Bow and arrows to Lone Wolf, and flew into the air, uppercutting Nyarl in the back and sending him flying even higher. Long Wolf fired several arrows in rapid succession, impaling Nyarl in the left eye, left hip, and spine area, and finished the combo with a Kai Ray.

Kerr snapped back to attention and fired a kamehameha wave at the still-descending Nyarl, while Ryelandt raised his spear and threw it into the being. The spear stopped in mid-air and danced around Nyarl’s body stabbing him and quickly pulling itself out and changing locations before stabbing again. Finally, Gemini finished the combo with a whirlwind of flame, which pounded Nyarl for several minutes before turning into a flaming fist, grabbing him in the air, and slamming him into the ground hard.

When the dust and debris cleared, Nyarl stood in the middle of a vast crater, completely undamaged by the barrage. The heroes and villain looked on in dismay as he simply shrugged off the damage and blasted them back with a wave of evil, sinful energy. Now it really WAS hopeless…

Weiila and Nel continued to stare at the old man, who was barely moving at all. “…All right, how do we help them?” asked Weiila.

“I shall give them some time to plan,” said the old man. “I hope they enjoy my little gift…”

Galloway slowly awoke, his body arched over a pile of rubble. Nyarl was standing next to the Soul Collective, absorbing souls into himself. His allies were slowly returning to consciousness, but with the exception of Naar, they all seemed to be in very serious condition. He wasn’t in very good shape himself; his ribs were cracked, his face was only a few steps down from a certain Punisher antagonist, and he could barely see, much less move his body. So at last, this was how it ended…

Suddenly, a portal opened immediately above Galloway and something came tumbling out just before it closed. The object embedded itself in the debris next to him, revealing itself to be a golden sword. Lone Wolf was the first to stand, slowly walking to the blade, Nyarl completely ignoring him out of contempt. Lone Wolf’s hands wrapped around the blade…which was suddenly engulfed in golden flames…

THE END OF PART 98
The battle continues! Can Nyarlathotep be defeated? Stay tuned to find out!

Nooooooo! Is there no one who can save our heros and the multiverses?

P.S.This also reminds me of the time I fought Ultimecia for the first time.
