The best weapon.

the gunblades trigger releases a bullet when it makes contact with a person. The bullet adds a gun shot to the BIG slash from the sword part causing a sort of overkill which would be a critical blow

Yeah… but it doesn’t seem to have a barrel.

Best weapon? Dancing Dirk, that was really useful.

What I meant to say was he had a evil cause. He was hired by Hades to kill Hercules and then Sora.

Good point, he IS a mercenary afterall. But you say his rage for Aeris’ death was enough to turn him evil? Isn’t Aeris alive in Kingdom hearts?

first, the best weapon is the Ragnarok, no question (being the strongest weapon in FF6, and it is, the Illuima is he 2nd)

yes Aeris is alive, but Cloud did’nt know it until the end of KH and Cloud obviously is’nt evil because if you lose the 1st fight against him, he spares you.

but what i’m wondering is, how in the hell did Cloud get to this world in the first place and how is Aeris alive?

You’re wrong, the Illumina is stronger then the Ragnarok. Not becasue of attack power, both have 255 attack, but the Illumina yeilds better stat bonuses: http://www.rpgclassics.com/shrines/snes/ff6/weapon.shtml

Masamune! How the hell do you beat a 20ft sword? Nobody say “Guns”, let me have my moment. Vincents pistols are a clear second for me.

But wouldn’t the bullet just go flying off, unless of course, the gunblade was stabbed at the opponent…

EDIT: …wait, the barrel would probably be underneath the blade wouldn’t it, that would make some sense.

I’m all about the Illumina; it gives me the Celes of doom ^^

Gunblades are vary real. IRL the barrel of the gun is beside the blade, and is general a muzzle loader.

Now, the Gunblade in FF8. It would be vary akward and heavy. Hard to use, wich would explain why gunblade specialists were so rare. Due to it’s size and weight, it wouldn’t defend vary as it takes away fromt he dexterity required to parry a blow. It would be like trying to block a rapier with a broadsword. The gunblade in a way is like a glorified bayonette in that you would have to stab them with it then pull the trigger to get a good hit. Or you would pull the trigger on a glancing blow to still do damage… such 'n such too. like so… demonstrates

In terms of attack power, and the flare special ablity, i will always choose the Ragnarok over the Illiuma because the Illiuma is so much harder to get anyway.

Hell, it helped me to defeat a Branchosaur in the Dinosuar forest in 1 shot. and I got the Ecomonizer on that one.

Well the reason that there is no barrel on a gun blade is that you’re supposed to slice into a person so that the chamber of the gun is right next to the person so when you shoot your target is literally at point blank range.

This also leads to the question if you had sliced a person far enough to get your sword in that far why would you need to bother shooting them… but oh well.

Because we all love to blow stuff up. ^^

There probably isn’t a better reason then that.

ok, that will work.

the barrel of the gun part of a gunblade is at the tip of the blade itself. when you stab someone with it the gun acts like a shotgun with incredible force to kill your enemy if they survive the cut. it’s heavy so who ever uses it needs to work to it. the weight also helps you. if your enemy is in a defensive stance with the weapon blocking, the gunblades weight can knock them back adding momentim to finish them off.

in KH cloud doesn’t know areis is alive and he spares sora because he doesn’t care about some little kid. i was wrong cloud isn’tevil he is just searching for areis. as for how he got there… do you mean at the end of how he got to the colosium? if it’s the colosium he got there through the portal at hollow bastion. it leads to other world so he got lucky and was sent there

if it’s the end after sora and mickey sealed kingdom hearts all the characters were sent back to where they were supossed to be. cloud went back to hollow bastion with aeris. if anyone know… why was sora sent to the disney kingdom at the end?

Why not just grab a sword as heavy as a gunblade with an ergonomically designed handle that could be used much more effectively to smach through your foes’ defenses?

The in-game graphics make it seem impossible that those things have ‘barrels’ that ‘shoot’ bullets. Anything past the first two blades, anyway.

On another note: Why the heck would you STAB someone with a blade that’s designed to (well, it pretty damn looks like it’s designed to) slashing?

errr i messed up! the gunblade is meant for slashing. when you slash your enemy you pull the trigger to shoot them. it still adds a good extra hit. the gunblade could have an opening at the tip to release a bullet. it might be really small

I’m going to say the Buster Sword.

Sephiroths Masamune. Why?

  1. I’m a Katana fanatic (see avatar, me with my Katana)
  2. Masamune= Daddy of all Katana’s = my favourite

What about it’s sister sword, the murasame?

Or the Muramasa! Ok, I really don’t know if that’s a sibling to the Masamune and Murasame, but… It’s cool!

And, REAL gunblades were made more as guns, with a bladed tip in case of ammo loss. Go to a war museum.
