Glad to hear you had a good time Sorc, the seating sounds odd though, usually when you go to concerts like that you stand, well at most of the Punk Rock venues around here you do, well then again they are low budget.

Mudvayne is one of the “metal” group I always decry when they come up because I’ve heard way better metal that doesn’t get recognized because they don’t do crappy, easy to understand lyrics.
Deftones is the only band I respect in the lot.
Metallica have a lot of history. But, when they lose their drummer to a LOCAL MONTREAL BAND, I think that’s a show of how much they suck.
And Sorc, over here, it’s 200$ for a ticket. Okay, that’s Canadian money, but it’s still a fucking lot.

Deftones completely suck ass. I’ve heard a lot of their music, and I still can’t seem to like them.
So that’s why I’m going. Deftones will be one of those ‘taking a break’ performances. I’ll probably go take a piss or something
I’ve seen the Deftones live at House of Blues, and it was a pretty decent show. I enjoy the music generally in small doses, but I thought the show I went to was sort of monotonous. All of the songs seemed to be “here’s the slow part, now we’ll have the rough fast part, now the slow part again, now the fast part” type of thing, and that gets old after a little while.
Concerts in general are just fun, and sometimes the most fun part isn’t the music but the atmosphere.
Lars Ulrich has been the Metallica drummer from day 1 - he’s one of the two remaining founding members.

Yeah those are pretty good, although power metal isn’t really my favourite genre of metal, I still like Blind Guardian a lot. I’d have to say thrash, and then the extremes, like black and death, are my favourites… Like Dissection, Megadeth, Anthrax, Cryptopsy, Emperor… ah they’re great. Of course I like the traditional metal genre, like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. No wait… I don’t like them, I love them.
Iga, I think you have the drummer confused with their ex-bassist, Jason Newsted, who I think did the right thing by leaving, but that’s my opinion. And Voivod may be a local montreal band, but they’re metal legends, and I’d say they’re one of my favourites too.
I can understand why people can still respect the Deftones, they are a pretty decent band in their genre, if they even belong in one. Mudvayne, Linkin Park, and Limp Bizkit are all crap in my opinion, but if I’d probably sit through them for Metallica…
And X, why are you complaining about concerts? In my time here, the only music related topic you’ve talked about had to do with command and conquer, or some other games. So seeing as how you obviously don’t like most music people around here listen to, I don’t see what say you have in concerts being enjoyable or not.
