Out of curiosity, do we have any way to gauge the average age of the viewers here? I’m fairly certain that the average age must have risen over the last couple of years, if for no other reason than all of our regulars obviously aged (physically, if not maturity-wise). I don’t consider there to be an excessive amount of profanity on our site. Some of the words you singled out (“hell” especially) aren’t exactly considered profanities to begin with. If you compare this place to anywhere else out there (espeically places that tolerate 1337 5p34< ), we’re pretty tame.
(for the record, I had to refrain myself in this post from casually using the words “hell” and “damn,” neither of which I consider to be profanities)
[edit] I’d also like it noted, for the record, that I often use non-profanities in place of profanities. For example, instead of saying “cock,” I say “dong.” Instead of “pussy,” I say “hoo-hoo.” etc, etc. It’s funnier that way. [/edit]
No way to accurately guage ages. We have to take people’s words, and given that people lie about their genders, I assume they lie about their ages too.
I sure ain’t lying about my gender(male). I could scan my ID to prove my age, too.
My point is why would anyone want to lie about being a dude, anyway.
I dunno, cause gamers tend to make a big deal about women gamers, and maybe those women gamers want to avoid the unneccesary attention. I don’t know how women think, I’ve got a dong.
I’d say the average age of the active community members ir probably somewhere between 20-22, maybe a bit higher.
I highly doubt that.

I think it’s 19-22 average.
The median age is probably somewhere in the 19-22 range. The mode probably is too. However, when taking the average of all those pesky young visitors like Setz and Ramza and Ezboarder and kiro, that will also skew the data. Now their extremes aren’t as bad as Wilf and dragonquester, but the sheer number of 13 to 16 year old will clear affect the average enough to pull it down.
However, if we were to take only those with, say, 500+ posts, it would be higher, because it seems a lot of little kids appear, post twice, and are GONE!
