Starfox 2. Who can get it to work?

No, seriously, who can? I can get the GAMe to work, but as soon as I enter a level it freezes and dies. Is there anyone here who knows how to get it to run properly? And no ‘It’s a beta thus broke’’ stuff please, 'cause I know it CAN be made to work.

There’s a LOT of different versions of the ROM. I found the one titled Star Fox II (Beta) (Padded) [H1] to actually play, aside from a really annoying constant flashing screen.

I know there’s an English patch that’s nearly finished, but you can’t download it yet. Maybe that fixes the screen flashing too?

Can you tell me where you got your copy?

And yeah. I found out about the patch for it on the main page of RPGC, which is why I’ve made the thread. I remember reading about this years ago. It looked awesome. :frowning:

I got it at EmuAsylum.

Consider yourself lucky, mine won’t even load.

Wheee, it’s working!

But yeah, flashing-screen is annoying as hell. Shame really. I wonder why this was never released? It’s really good. :\

The real-time elements are really cool! Then there’s the vast amount of selectable characters, the actual first appearance of Star Wolf… etc. It’s a shame they never finished this one, but they probably didn’t because the N64 was due out soon.

Yeah. I downloaded Lylat Wars, and it also rocks. It’s a shame about SF Adventures. Starwing was one of the first ever SNES games I remember REALLY wanting. It got me into the whole 3D-is-the-future mindset. Anyone remember Vortex?

I never even knew Vortex came out. I saw the screenshots in Nintendo Power, but I don’t remember the game ever being released. Maybe I’ll give it a shot someday.

I did try Spectre though; that wasn’t bad. And Stunt Race FX was rather fun.

They call the Star Fox series Lylat Wars over there, right? And Contra is Probotector?

Yep. And they they robot-heroes instead of the normal contra-guys.

And Vortex was AWESOME.
