Sooo... seen any good April's fools jokes?

I was hoping for something along the lines of IGNs Zelda movie trailer, but something like that only comes along once in a blue moon first of April. RPGamer has a fanfic themed one it seems, which made me chuckle a little.

My newspaper cheated and as far as I’ve seen only makes a list of all the jokes every other paper has done today. Boo. Boo I say!

But I see Blizzard delivers, at least. And I see now that Wikipedia have some reeeally oddball tidbits on their first page.

The “in-game email with exciting ways to enhance it” in the WoW article really cracked me up.

I’ve been mostly offline, so the only one I heard about was Type-Moon’s, though I doubt anyone else here will care about that. TokyoTosho also seems to have become Crunchyroll.

Blizzard’s also come out with a mobile game http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/games/mobile/ I was hoping Google would done something.

Sega announced Ecco: Water Wars 2

Youtube has videos you can view with TEXTp.

And Alan Wake Wars: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Db1khCoK9pg

http://xkcd.com/ It’s pretty interesting…

Love xkcd’s joke. Thought it was Flash at first.

Google did do something. Official Google Blog: A different kind of company name

Also, while you’re searching it says things like “1-10 of 1,000,000 for searchterm (found at 1.21 gigawatts)”, which is Back to the Future.

And mail.google.com has no vowels on its main page.

And the UK version of Google includes Animal Translate: http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/landing/translateforanimals/

Starbucks has new coffee sizes: http://www.starbucks.com/blog/10113/starbucks-listens-to-customer-request-for-more-sizes.aspx

Deckard Cain GPS.

God I’d buy it.

I never noticed the no vowels thing, but when I searched it was in microfortnights. I am sing the Canada homepage so maybe it’s a geographical thing?

Edit: Just tried several searches. It changes units every time.

Blizzard has done changes totheir armory, announced a battle.net matchmaking service,, announced their Neural Interface,, Deckard Cain GPS AND their gamer blanket, two new mobile games and finally the The Equipment Potency EquivalencE Number

Kotaku got bought by Activision

Thinkgeek is selling unicorn in a can

The rest I saw was already posted.

My firefox is making strange robot noises and I hope that’s April Fools related too

Mine isn’t. Your comp has become ground zero for SkyNet. You are bound by Future Law to destroy it immediately.

Another good one: Civ 5 to feature Extreme Diplomacy

People shouldn’t pretend to have real life or death illnesses on April Fool’s day. At best it’s not funny, at worst it would leave me to just not give a fuck when they later contract that illness due to Karma.

here’s a good one.

Hulu’s “Internal, Confidential” Training Video, found by trying to watch a show or movie in 3-D.

Edit: Deviantart changed everyone’s avatars to either Lady Gaga, Twilight, or Legend of the Seeker images.

New class revealed for Star Wars: The Old Republic, “Sarlacc Enforcer”

Here’s yet another one from Blizzard.

Edit: I bring you IGN’s Halo movie trailer. Perhaps even better than the Zelda trailer.

I liked how Blizzard tried to inject some humour into their jokes. “Queen’s Quest” had the right pitch, especially regarding the 17 (?) diskettes and the tongue-in-cheek “user-friendly” DRM.

There was one more Youtube joke I barely caught. I was uploading videos yesterday, and the image they normally use for processing a video (a camcorder) was replaced by a similar picture, but with Ceiling Cat in the middle of it. Pretty funny.

This one’s pretty okay.

RPG Lamer had two.
