Now I am thinking about poor FF fans, especially of the hardcore variety, those for whom FF is almost an addiction – they just got to have/play all the games with a “FF” symbol – every sequel, prequel, spin-off, remake, or version created.
Square Enix made a perfect business decision - going multi-platform full blast with their famous strategy of “deploying polymorphic content”. But the FF addicts are taking a hit in the wallet. And Ichiro Otobe could be praised or blamed (depending on which side of seller/customer fence you stand) for this.
If you want to play all the FF games coming out lately, you got to go multi-platform: Wii is a must for Crystal Chronicles aficionados, NDS for all the remakes, PSP for Dissidia, Crisis Core, and maybe Before Crisis (?); if you want to watch Advent Children Complete, and play FFXIII and Versus XIII, in that case, PS3 should be added to your gaming hardware.
Edit: I forgot to mention that FFXIII and Versus are still PS3 exclusive, at least that is how it was presented at the S-E Party:

It’s for PS3 and only PS3, and there’s virtually zero percent chance of it coming to any other system.
