I have had to give out quite a few warnings or have had to manually edit out oversized pictures from people’s sigs. People, use some freakin’ sense when it comes to putting stuff in your sigs, especially if you add pictures to text. This stuff takes space and we all have better things to do than look at huge pics that take up half the screen if not more. Remember the lovely lesson we all learned together when everyone wanted sets of fucking personality tests. If 1 was too much then, then your huge pics are too.

Its nice when there’s MUCH more width than height. Like a comic stip. Esp a funny comic strip.

The general guidelines are unofficially that your sig plus a line of posting shouldn’t be longer then how much space the info on the side takes up, IE, your avatar and favorite information. Your post would be that long anyway.

Epic’s right in how it shouldn’t be much longer than what’s on the side. However, not everyone has the stuff on the side so that makes it debatable as to what we use as a standard. That’s a good size, Dalton.

Is this a download thing, a page space thing, or both? As far as downloading goes, mine isn’t bad at all, but it certainly takes up some space. So yeah, aside from the fact that my sig may or may not entertain anyone but me, is there a problem with it as it stands?

Epic and I’s statements apply for the ENTIRE sig and in general, pics that are THAT large tend to be irritating. It is mostly a page spacing thing, although you shouldn’t purposefully have a large file that would be inconvenient for others to download on slower connections. That is also not acceptable.

Oh yes, please God. Those things are never accurate anyways. EVeryone just throws around answers until they get Cloud. Even if it’s one for movie-star-to-become-president.

I discovered a bug in the V.Bulletin code a while back wherein if you switch from no-sig to having a sig, it wont take effect until you make a post. Switching from one sig to another is instantaneous, and the bug isn’t very big in any case, so it’s not much of a problem.

ON other vboards i been they update all your previous posts to your new sig

Ezboard has the bug that its only updated in the new posts

Green Mage, that isn’t a bug.

vBulletin has the “Attach Signature” unclicked if you don’t have a signature. It has it clicked if it does have a signature. If it’s using a signature, then it takes the one you currently have in the database.

EZboards didn’t work on as complex a database system, and they would just plug your signature automatically in each post, and that was it. It didn’t pull directly out of the signature database column, so changing your signature wouldn’t make a difference.
