RPGC SAGA IV Signup Thread

I’ve added one more paragraph to my profile, about Yar not killing people. Whoot.

Darn, I was hoping to have the first chapter of the story ready for tonight, but I realized I need to do more research. I gotta read more about some games I’m referencing; I may also need to PM some of you about your characters.

Ah, well. One thing I decided for this year’s story was that I was NOT going to kill myself trying to meet deadlines like I did last year. But I’m still set on starting this week. I just need to revise some stuff; I’m now aiming for Wednesday. Sorry about that, folks, but rest assured, I’m hard at work on making our story as good as possible.

You work so hard writing for us Wil. Thanks and while the no deadlines may slow it down a little, it’s probably for the better and will result in a better story.

Yeah, don’t we know it. Too bad I’m apparently not or possibly well-known good enough that people will immediately post comments the minute I start writing something ….

I understand your reasons, Mr. Martinez… and, I agree deadlines are only necessary if you make it a living.

But, you do have to understand… I can accept no excuses.

walks away, back turned, as a certain gaming store in Puerto Rico gets blown to oblivion.

I am sorry to hear about your setback, but I am glad that you are not rushing things. And I shall be happy to give you more information about my character should you require it, especially about my character’s special abilities, since they were too lengthy to describe in my profile.

I too can understand what its like to attempt creativity while under the pressure of a time limit. For me the results tend not to be pretty.

Also the only thing I would probably needed to discuss was the details of my character’s online persona, but I was also thinking since you’re the one writing this I figured that you probably had some other plan in mind. However, if you do have some questions about my character you still wish to ask then I’ll be happy to provide any answers necessary.

NOTE: If you wish, Wil, you could have something (perhaps a doppelganger) take my place and fool everybody else. I think that it would be an interesting twist. Of lime. Mmmm… lime.

Thanks for the support, guys. The good news is, I’ve done a major rewrite of the story, and I feel like I can start it tonight!! You see, I was trying to cram too much into a single plotline, but then I realized, "Hey, waitaminute. Why do I need a SINGLE plotline? I could have two, even three, and just interweave them as the story goes along! (this will probably mean our characters are going to split up for a while, but on the other hand, it may help focus more on each on them.) Amazing how this writing stuff works, no? One moment you’re stumped, the next it all fits together like a perfect puzzle. Frustrating, yet fulfilling!

And Yar: Nobody read my stories when I started, either. One day somebody said, “hey, this are cool!” and I’ve been popular ever since. So don’t give up. (Sorry I haven’t commented on your story myself, but I have been busy, as you can guess. Later, OK?)

And, in other news: “A Board Game store next to a Video Game store in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, just exploded, for unknown reasons. Police are already looking into the matter, the FBI has been alerted about the possibility of a terrorist attack…”

PC Glenton: “Damn, missed by this much!”
:hahaha;

Well I can’t wait to see what you have come up with Wil, I’m sure it will be interesting.

And yeah having multiple storylines sounds like a good idea to me.

Whee, possible update tonight. and yeah, more agreements about the no deadline thing. do it at your own pace and I think it’ll turn out much better than if you were trying to rush it.

I’m available by pm if you need any additional info too.

Wil, I’ve been meaning to write up a character profile and whatnot to join in, but haven’t got around to it yet. Would it still be okay if I did it in the next day or so?

Sure, Demi. You’re still in time to be inserted in the story in a meaningful spot. But hurry up, please!

Btw, folks, my rewrite of the story (with multiple plotlines) means that some of your characters may not show up until late in the story. But trust me, everyone who joined WILL appear in it, sooner or later.

People read my story when I started. Then I got flown all around to see if I had a disease named after a mountain range, although accidentally, and never got around to finishing it.

Wil, although this may seem like a duh thing to you, it’d be cool to merge all the plotlines in the end, with many of the common threads coming together to solve something. That’s how writers usually do it in this case, anyway.

Magma: That’s what I have done in the past, however this year I’m trying something new. There IS, however, something that connects all the plotlines, which will probably only be revealed towards the end of the story.

Next chapter should be up either tomorrow or Friday, depends on what I have to do (I have to babysit Luis on Thursday.)

You’ll have to give me a bit of time to digest all this, Wil. It’s been awhile (and probably an alternate membership, since I don’t remember who I was, the last time I started reading your Christmas story. Were Terror and I still on AOL at the time? o0;;):runaway: bouncy

What really sucks is, I wrote everything out, and when I tried to post it, the darn system lost it, and told me that I was logged out, to boot. growl

LIIIIIZZ!! So glad you’re joining!! It’s OK, you’re still early enough that I can fit you in the story in a meaningful part. And if you somehow can’t post it, send it to me and I’ll post it for you!

For those of you who don’t know, that was Elizabeth Ensley, of New York, my very first pen pal, from back in the dark days of the 80’s when people had to actually WRITE each other letters, you know. This lady is not only a still active fan and a great friend, but is also largely responsible for my getting to be a fanfic writer as well. So, if you enjoy my stuff, remember to thank Liz as well for it! It’ll be an honor to include you in the story, Liz. Let the creative juices flow!!

Btw, the next chapter of the story will most likely be posted Monday.

Hi! waves I go by liz, or Dark. I’m also on GaiaOnline with the same ID.

Let’s see if I can re-create anytthing off the top of my head.

Her name is Liz, or Dark. She has the power of Copy-editing, and a tendency towards third person, which she seems to favor in her narrative. Her organization is The Writing Circle. She does have an AI, which is the cybernetic equivalent of a Bag of Holding, that she wears on her wrist, so can sometimes seem to pull something from nothing. The AI’s name is Closetchan, because of his storage capability, and he’s a bit sardonic, biut also rather sensitive about some things, like not having arms or legs. He does like to play chess, though he is not very good at it. With greying brunette hait and glasses, she tends to wear slacks, with tee shirts in the warmer weather, and turtlenecks in the colder weather. She is commonly followed around by her “granddaughter”, Terror’s “daughter” (Terror, Bunny Terror, or Coral), named Aeris. Aeris is a grey, striped tabby who has been “fixed” (though not broken) and not declawed. In other words, Aeris has some rather sharp little claws. Sometimes, much to Terror’s chagrin, she refers to Aeris as Rissy. Terror, by the way, is her daughter.

Oh, and Dark tends to favor bad puns and impromptu jokes, sometimes too esoteric for others to grasp. She is currently on enforced hiatus from World of Warcraft and her Forsaken, Forsaken Mage.

I have a feelnig that I might have missed a few points here and there, but I have tried to re-create the information that was lost.

:toast: Is that okay? Closetchan does not hoard weapons, btw.

Background is mysteriously hidden, but may have something to do with either penguins or aardvarks, or perhaps, both.
