She’s been letting the Real World wear her down in recent times, but hopefully this will cheer her up a little. :slight_smile:

Percival: Yes, I received your Email. I was about to respond today (I was slightly busy before) but I’ll do so here instead. Your ideas are excellent, as usual, and I’ll use as much of them as might fit into this multi-character story. One of my biggest disappointments of not finishing last year’s story was that I never got to your part. I suppose I can tell what I had planned now, anyway:

As you remember, the mysterious events in that story were caused by a figure calling himself “Father Luke.” This was nobody less than LOKI, seeking revenge for his previous defeat in our Second RPGC Saga. He had transported his son, Ken (GenericAngstyPoster), to Jotunheim to test his worthiness, but (in the part I never got to) GAP would find himself overwhelmed by evil Trolls. Just when all seemed lost, a figure that struck terror in the monster’s hearts would appear and slay them; just when it would seem that he would cut down GAP too, it would be revealed to be Percival, who had wandered into that land in pursuit of the marauding giants. The two would then join forces to escape and face the villain. I hope that plotline would have been of your and GAP’s appreciation.

Yar: Yes, I got your PM too, I just responded to it. So many great ideas, so little room! Once again folks, the story starts on Monday Night. So those of you still without any plotlines, HURRY UP!!

Now I really am disappointed that last year’s story never got finished. That part sounded really cool, Wil. And would have loved to see what else Loki had up his sleave.

Oh well, life goes on. And I am sure this one will be just as good, if not better.

Yes, it is a pity that you did not have a chance to finish last year’s saga; I should certainly have enjoyed seeing that battle with the trolls, as well as the rest of Loki’s plot and the conclusion with Ken and his girlfriend. Actually, I am curious about how all of the plot would have ended…

Nevertheless, I am glad that what I have sent you may be of use this year; I look forward to reading whatever you will write.

Oh, sure, Magma: each one of my Sagas is independent of each other- some villains have occasionally returned, but each story stands on its own. Besides, my RPGC Saga article on this Forum should fill you up on any basic details you need to know. Or you could always just ask.

You can also check out parts 1-3 in the Fanfic Archives. They started kinda silly, but soon got all adventuresy. :slight_smile:

Ok, the following people still owe me plotlines: Val, Videospirit, Chocobo Will (No relation :stuck_out_tongue: ) and Taran. Once again: I cannot use your characters until you write their plotline. It can be anything as simple as “I want this to happen to my character” or “I want him to do this.” Of course, the more detailed, the better. PM me if you need help.

Identity: Lex, Taishi Agent, RPGC, Taishi School graduate, RPGC member

Personality: Enjoys the spirit of competition and enthusiastically engages in any kind of contest.

In Mission Mode he’s all business and tends to be terse when working with others. Due to his training he is used to working alone or with others he’s trained closely with, thus needing very little communication.

He enjoys thoughtful debate, especially with beautiful women (everything’s better with beautiful women).

Around RPGC he mingles with those who have influence in the group, as part of his mission, and is friendly with the other members.

Kiro scares him sometimes since she’s taken to using him as target practice. He once woke up to a bazooka aimed at his bed, wired to a pressure switch. Betting that it likely wasn’t loaded, he lost his bed. He would have lost more if his forcefield didn’t automatically come on.

He’s almost sure she’s testing his forcefield for weaknesses.

While training he sometimes takes it too seriously, landing real blows by accident. With those who can take it he often challenges his partner to more and more intense sparring matches, thoroughly relishing the outcome, win or lose.

Appearance: Asian, 20, male, 5’7",

clothing style: on missions, leather jacket, dark clothing. Think Dark Angel X5 mission gear.

Normally: blue jeans and t-shirts. Whatever’s comfortable.

Powers: Martial arts (Shinsan-ken), Mutant power: Invulnerable, personal forcefield. (This takes influences from some chapters of Live A Live. First is obviously the Kung Fu one and the second is from Flow. I figured in a world with psychics, why not other powers. That and I’m a huge X-Men fan.)

Lex can shape the forcefield with his mind. He has learned to use it to augment his martial arts. He can extend it from himself to form weapons, use to extend his limbs or shield others. The default ‘setting’ of the forcefield surrounds him like a second skin.

Background: A graduate of the Mount Taishi School of Martial Arts. His family has been training at this school since ancient times when one of his ancestors was one of the lucky ones the successor chose to teach.

At the age of 13, it was revealed that he possessed powers beyond that ofnormal people. The martial arts training allowed him to control his power better. He can form it into any shape and is never without a weapon and defense.

After mastering Shinsan-ken he set off to explore the world and lend his skills where needed.

He has a university education, excelling in Asian literature because of his background, and law at the insistence of his parents.

Plot: Lex joins RPGC when he learns this is a group of heroes dedicated to protecting justice.

Letters from home reveal that the school has been attacked by a small group from their ancient rivals, the Ihamondan. How they survived and why they decided to attack now isn’t known.

The school has limited the number of new students it accepts and accelerated the training of the students. Some of the elite students have been sent out to track down the Ihamondan and gather intelligence.

Along with trying to locate the Ihamondan, Lex is now tasked to gain some influence within RPGC so that he can bring some outside help if the Taishi School ever needs it.

I may tweak the Personality or other parts. Mainly because I’m thinking of the word to describe something, but it’s on the tip of my tongue.

Odio will play a role as the main villian. Just don’t know how. You would likely come up with a better use for him, but I’ll think of some ideas as well.

OK, I received Val and Chocobo Will’s plots, leaving only Video and Taran unaccounted for. The story begins Monday, but you still can catch up.

BTW, my PM inbox was full on Friday (yeah, I’m one of those who never remembers to empty it regularly :stuck_out_tongue: ) but it’s empty now, so if anybody wanted to PM me or needs wants to do so again, it’s Ok now.

Darn, I was hoping to have the first chapter of the story ready for tonight, but I realized I need to do more research. I gotta read more about some games I’m referencing; I may also need to PM some of you about your characters.

Ah, well. One thing I decided for this year’s story was that I was NOT going to kill myself trying to meet deadlines like I did last year. But I’m still set on starting this week. I just need to revise some stuff; I’m now aiming for Wednesday. Sorry about that, folks, but rest assured, I’m hard at work on making our story as good as possible.

You work so hard writing for us Wil. Thanks and while the no deadlines may slow it down a little, it’s probably for the better and will result in a better story.

I am sorry to hear about your setback, but I am glad that you are not rushing things. And I shall be happy to give you more information about my character should you require it, especially about my character’s special abilities, since they were too lengthy to describe in my profile.

I too can understand what its like to attempt creativity while under the pressure of a time limit. For me the results tend not to be pretty.

Also the only thing I would probably needed to discuss was the details of my character’s online persona, but I was also thinking since you’re the one writing this I figured that you probably had some other plan in mind. However, if you do have some questions about my character you still wish to ask then I’ll be happy to provide any answers necessary.

NOTE: If you wish, Wil, you could have something (perhaps a doppelganger) take my place and fool everybody else. I think that it would be an interesting twist. Of lime. Mmmm… lime.

Thanks for the support, guys. The good news is, I’ve done a major rewrite of the story, and I feel like I can start it tonight!! You see, I was trying to cram too much into a single plotline, but then I realized, "Hey, waitaminute. Why do I need a SINGLE plotline? I could have two, even three, and just interweave them as the story goes along! (this will probably mean our characters are going to split up for a while, but on the other hand, it may help focus more on each on them.) Amazing how this writing stuff works, no? One moment you’re stumped, the next it all fits together like a perfect puzzle. Frustrating, yet fulfilling! :smiley:

And Yar: Nobody read my stories when I started, either. One day somebody said, “hey, this are cool!” and I’ve been popular ever since. So don’t give up. (Sorry I haven’t commented on your story myself, but I have been busy, as you can guess. Later, OK?)

And, in other news: “A Board Game store next to a Video Game store in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, just exploded, for unknown reasons. Police are already looking into the matter, the FBI has been alerted about the possibility of a terrorist attack…”

Whee, possible update tonight. and yeah, more agreements about the no deadline thing. do it at your own pace and I think it’ll turn out much better than if you were trying to rush it.

Btw, folks, my rewrite of the story (with multiple plotlines) means that some of your characters may not show up until late in the story. But trust me, everyone who joined WILL appear in it, sooner or later.
