RPGC Group Project Proposal and Discussion

I have no right to propose such a thing, but here goes.

We’ve got a shiny wiki, how abouts we put it to use? I mean, the site’s going down anyway; let’s try to finish it with a bang.

What I propose is, more or less, a coordinated effort to create a shrine for a more recent game (or games, if need be). Each person would be responsible for creating portions of the shrine (part of the walkthrough, a character sheet, etc.). The Agora and chat can be used to update each other, preview our work, or ask questions. Once all the pieces are together, we can then assemble them into a unified whole.

The idea is to focus our efforts on one game, which would be far more efficient than one guy trying to do a whole shrine. We still need to discuss which game we will use, if we even bother to try this. This thread can serve as a signup, and a board for proposing which titles we want to start with. Remember, this is RPGClassics, so we should keep to the RPGs. Not that anyone will even bother with this, but…it’s worth a shot.

Well, thanks for your time. Let’s see if we can get this baby running!

We tried that on the games forum way way back when for a couple games. Didn’t pan out.

Pick a game Galloway.

I’ll contribute what I can based on the game.

How about we stick to what we’re good at and do Final Fantasy XIII?

That would work. I haven’t the time to contribute much, but if there are any technical issues, let me know and I’ll see if I can’t figure them out.

I’m 16, I have more time than anybody. And a ps3.

So how are we going to do this? I’m not sure how to set it up via a wiki. I haven’t done shit since we saved files as .shtml and uploaded them :stuck_out_tongue:

GSG: If you can write worth a fuck or can provide any relevant/vital information, you can be on board too.

For some reason sometimes I can post and sometimes I can’t. Any idea why?

Anyway: I have time and I can write pretty well. However I won’t be playing FF13 soon (I don’t own any of the systems it’ll be coming out on) :frowning: still if you people need editors or proofreaders, let me know.

Speaking of which: who edits your posts, Gallo, Eeyore? :hahaha;

I say we’ll probably have multiple people going over it before release as we always have.

I have perfec gramer.

Ok, so far it’s galloway, me, GSG, and wilf along with anyone else that wants to review/edit. Anyone else?

edit: Request that this thread be stickied.

I haven’t got either of the systems FFXIII will be on. Good luck with that though.

I wouldn’t mind helping, but I probably won’t get XIII, as I don’t have anything it’s coming out (or I could hope for a PC version).
Part of me wouldn’t mind fixing up the Romancing SaGa 3 shrine (or somehow convert it to wiki and make a half-ass attempt to fill in some missing stuff…). This is mostly since I’ve actually come back to playing it recently and I’m actually at a point where I can make a good attempt to beat the game.

But honestly, I haven’t really had much time lately to really dedicate myself to a full-on wiki project since Soma Bringer.
I did try to do some other stuff, but I either felt dissatisfied or came to the realization that there simply too much stuff to cover.

This’d be the workspace. Logins are the same as on the Agora.

Can’t log in to the workspace, I get “There is no user named Wilfredo Martinez”. Do I need to register for it, or is it more of the same problem I’ve been having? (I erased a bunch of cookies from my computer days ago and now I occasionally am unable to post online, including here. It just comes and goes (?)

User names with spaces crap out on the Wiki. Register the nickname WilfredoMartinez instead.

WilfredoMartinez didn’t work either. :frowning:

Try shortening? Maybe WilMar? :stuck_out_tongue:

I think this would be ideal. FF13 is a really high-profile game, and it’s only now being released, meaning that we don’t have to catch up with what others have done as much, the playing field is more level. If the folks who have PS3s would be willing to focus on FF13 and contribute, the wiki could potentially attract some attention.

I know that I could conjure up a character page and basic info stuff (controls, battle system, etc.). I could probably do a walkthrough depending on how far I get into the game over my spring break and how much time I have between classes and the part-time job. But I’m presuming others will be willing to contribute to creating a walkthrough as well.
