Ok, one of the features I have seen on this type of forum template is a feature that lets you make anonymous “rep” comments on other people’s posts. Basically, you got to User CP, and you have a list of the anonymous comments on all of your posts. does anyone know what the hell I’m talking about? And if so, could we institute it here?

Not always, sometimes you just want to say something to someone anonymously. The forum I saw it on was a lot bigger than this one; but still.
If you feel that you have to say it anonymously, you probably shouldn’t be saying it.

I wouldn’t agree 100% with this generalisation, but in the case of the RPGC forums… then yes. I would understand if this was some sort of work situation when you wanted to say something about your boss to your boss without them knowing it was you. RPGC doesn’t have any situations like that… you already have enough anonymity with your damn user names. It must be pretty embarrassing comments (for either party) if you don’t want the recipient to know the sender.

Rep would be good if everyone on a forum was honest and reasonable, but for a place like this, probably not. I can’t really think of anyone here other than SG and maybe one or two others I’d be consistently +repping. There aren’t many people here to begin and the ones who are really active tend to be pretty abrasive, and the kinds of topics most of us start wouldn’t really justify having a rep system. There are very few serious ones here.
It would be interesting to see who got the highest reps though. I have a feeling I’d be pretty low, maybe the lowest next to GSG and Ramza 
Edit: Hold on a sec, the kind of rep I assumed you were talking about and the kind of rep you actually are are different things. Your kind of rep doesn’t really have any use anywhere imo

Because life would be boring if I only hung around utopian communities where no one ever said anything stupid and everyone already knew the answers to all of their questions and unconditionally loved each other.
Edit: And because you can get away with being a lot more honest and real here than in places like Penny Arcade where every mod and admin is about as wise as Setz and a thousand times more willing to ban you for disagreeing with their unchecked retardation than even the worst mods here This place does have its upsides.
Dude, did someone in Penny Arcade kill your puppy or something? I mean, we get it, your experience there was unfavourable, but the way you bring it up without fail in any conversation even vaguely related to internet forums makes it sound as if they sodomized you.
That sounds like what I’m talking about. You have a list of “rep comments” in your User CP that are anonymous comments on posts you made; at the same time, the forum has a public ranking of who’s gotten the most comments, “rep points”, as you say. Though, you raise some good points about the small size of the forum, and the fact that people don’t seem to hold back here.
I kind of like the idea of a +/- system, but I’m not sure about anonymous comments. It just seems like it’d be better and easier to man up and post it under your username. We’re mostly all in our 20s here I think. I can’t imagine a situation where something here would be too harsh to publicly say.
I’d prefer it if this forum would NOT start to turn into facebook.
