Really annoying problem.

I have this problem with my laptop. The cursor does not respond to my commands. Instead, the cursor moves sparatically across the screen, sometimes doing circles. I cant regain control of the cursor until the computer decides to stop. I called technical support and they didnt know what to do, so now im asking you guys. Its a dell laptop with windows XP. The standard mouse devices are a touchpad and toggle switch. Both test fine when i test them in the mouse utility. I have tried plugging in an external mouse using the PS2 slot in the back, but i have the same sparatic movement.

Please help me, this is so annoying…

A friend of mine had a similar problem, and he had to send it back to the manufacturer to get a new touch pad mouse fitted. There might be another way to fix it, but I’m not very good with computers so I wouldn’t know.

Either you have a virus or you need a new touch pad

I’ve had the same problem. I’m still not sure what was causing it but it stopped when I changed keyboard.

In any case, you will have to contact Dell Support.
