Rangnarok download...no worky!

This problem has probobly been covered in the official thread, but I don’t feel like looking through 14 pages to find what I want.

Anywho, a few days ago I decided to download Ragnarok Online and try it for myself. HOWEVER, I can’t seem to find a working download. The official site won’t let me download. StarStorm pointed me at some other site (Ausgaming or something) that had it, and the dowload WORKED, but after a short while it would “finish” early n the download and save an empty compressed folder. Are there any other good places for the download?

Okay, so I have it downloaded, but now it won’t INSTALL proporly! Midway through the install, I get this error message about the “Data1” file being corrupted…can anyone help/

I have all the files, but I deleted the ZIP they came in. I HOPE thats not a problem. :frowning:

Where did you end up getting it to download from? Also, it would have helped to have known the size of the zip file to see if it really did download completely.

I got it from Fileplanet. And yeah, I check the size of the zip. 570 megs, whitch was how long the download was. It downloaded suprisingly fast. :slight_smile:

I think Eden also had trouble with the FilePlanet one being corrupt. Try the ausgamer DL

I tried that one already…it wouldn’t download the whole file.

fileplanet worked for me and lots of others. did you use a manager? when a file is corrupt like that it usually means that the download just randomly fucked up.

I’ve said it before, I’ll DCC it in the chat. I know my zip works considering I used it to install it on my computer.

Okay, I guess I’ll delete the files I downloaded and get it via that chat…how would that work, and how long would it take?

First off, let me extend a HUGE thanks to Kagon for sending me the file.

RO STILL won’t install proporly, and I don’t think its a problem with the file. I get an error message during the “Copying new files” part of the installation, and it mentions something about the Data1 file and offers me the options “Abort” “Retry” “Ignore”.
If I choose “Ignore”, the installation stops. If I choose “Retry”, it goes on for a little while, and then I get the message again. This goes on for awhile, but when the download meter gets full, the installation just…stops. I’m about t just give this whole project the almighty “Fuck it.”

Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

I’ve never heard of that problem. Check out RO’s main site to see if they have anything covering it.

The problem wasn’t covered in their FAQ, so I email them. I am now awaiting a response.

Oh… good luck with that. You can also check the GameFAQs board and post there. There’s tons of people so maybe one might know.

Well, Gamefaqs was no help so far…and I got no response from tech supprot…I think i’ll just give up…thanks for trying to help, guys.
