I guess it depends on the way theyâre programmed. I mean, if we program a robot mind to have the almost exact same structure of the human mind in terms of how thoughts interact with each other, than robots would have emotions. The assumption of decades of science fiction is that we canât program a machine to have the same kind of thought-structure of the human mind, its just too complex, and because of that they wouldnât have emotions.
