Are captchas effective? Do you require them when new members sign up?
That sounds like a good way to keep off the spambots… but as I mentioned, I fear some of them are actual people being paid to join and post spam.

We do, yes, and no they’re not. Not particularly.
Y’know. In MY day, advertisers would interupt your TV shows, your magazines, your scenic view while driving, and they’d call you at home all the time. I don’t know where I was going with this. something about how it was safe to go onto a message board and not be harassed by spammers, but I don’t think that was true.
I don’t think they are all called Captchas.
