Post-Halloween Chaos (or pre or whatever)

For the past three years in Madison, WI we have had semi-low key “riots”. (Not the right word but first thing that comes to mind). And here is the post carnage report:

Now for my involvement or lack there of. I left the whole thing at 1:30 or so and I basically missed the entire thing. My dad was working overtime that night and was called down to the 500 block from his post. What basically started off as a stupid idea, (starting an uncontrolled fire in a crowded area), escallated to a semi-standoff between the police and party goers. The police then used the “tear” gas on the crowd so the FD could put out the fire. The gas used was NOT tear gas btw, it is a pepper spray variant. Other than that my dad didn’t say much else and the info seems to be fairly accurate.
Side note: Two of my friends drunk off their asses decided to go back down at some point and my dad noticed them. They were about to go check out the whole shabang and my dad noticed them and stopped them from getting arested and gassed.

Ah… halloween riots. God bless you Madison, WI. I am form points to profile Carbondale, IL, and we used to have horrible semi-riots. One year when I was young, my bike was stolen, and found two miles away, partially inside, partially outside a building downtown. I am so glad that the rioters moved up north, but still, I hope its not too much of a put off for you.

BTW, you go to UW-Madison?

Ah, yes, when will we have a halloween in madison that doesn’t end in a police stand off

Nope, UW-Whitewater. My parents live in Madison. The mayor here is being such a moron though and wants to cancel the Halloween festivities for next year. But, according to my father, (officer), the police really don’t feel the same way as he does. Btw Silver Hawks rock.
