About an hour into the game, at the beginning of Act 1. So far, it’s almost exactly like Snatcher, albeit with a bit wider range of stuff to click on and a far better shooting mode. The story is excellent, coming from a time before Hideo Kojima hooked himself to a LSD machine and starting cranking out Metal Gear mindfucks every five minutes. The translation itself is utterly awesome, damn near professional quality in fact.
My only real problem with the game, so far, is the same thing I had issues with in Snatcher. Sometimes, the game will simply not let you progress until you perform some random little action, look at your watch five times, try to grope every woman you see, and generally show people everything you have stashed in your inventory. The space flight was especially grating, requiring you to talk to the same guy about each topic three to four times, talk to the stewardess about toilets, watch what amounts to the same newscast twice, and literally look at your watch.
Anyway, it’s awesome finally getting this fucking game. Hunt it down and play it now if you want.
