that’s because you’re probably poking too fast, try to do it slowly
No, it just alternates. First it explodes, then it crushes your hand with the mallet and then it uses the old shotgun.

well, ok, but it used the shotgun against me the first time, so i guess it must be random

And BTW, it hammered me first. But it always does go in a specific order, regardless on how it starts. Hammer, Gun, Boom.
