Peter Jackson wants to do "The Hobbit"

No.

I’ve heard this before. It seems like it would be rather tricksy, though. I mean Gandalf, Arwen, and Gollum you could have again, no problem. But now that Ian Holm has been Bilbo in LotR, it’d be kinda hokey to use a different actor in his place for The Hobbit. And Holm ain’t no spring chicken, as they say…

I’d be all for it, but there are problems, just as George Lucas ran into for the new Star Wars trilogy and the reason you’ll never see Episodes VII-IX.

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/staff/tenchimaru/td.gif”> King Kong! Woooooooo!

Ha laughs at you all It looks sweet, has a leaked trailer Comes out in 2006. The scene Smaug attacks Laketown looks fucking cool.

Peter Jackson seemed to suck something from LotR. Even judge on their own, each movie seemed to be lacking something, and no, that’s not nostalgia since I’m not a die-hard Ringy. I prefer Earthsea. I think it was hope. The trilogy seemed bleak, but there was always hope. The movies didn’t seem to get that really.

Anyway, of the four books, The Hobbit is by far the most lighthearted, but I can’t help but think Jackson will somehow suck that out of the story. Plus, I bet the movie will be blue. Go watch the LotR movies. They’re fucking blue tinted. Go compare them to older movies. Oh well, alot of movies these days are blue tinted.

King Kong is gonna be sweet… the old movies were pretty good, but a newer one with updated…everything, would be pretty sweet.

Why the hell not? People should stop whining about ‘oh there something missing!!!’ about every single little defaults things have. Stop being picky.

That often goes for games, too.

He’s got some talent for sure. I mean he came from doing “Dead Alive” and “Meet The Feebles”. I still say he should try “The Hobbit”. If he screws it up we can all yell at him.

It could end up nice, and it could end up bad. I’m going to wait and see.

I agree.

It’s possible we might see that. There have been rumors that Lucas might let Spielberg write and direct them, with Lucas himself on involved in coming up with general plot lines and character designs.

You;d think it would have made more sense to make “The Hobbit” before “Fellowship of the Ring”.

I dont think King Kong will be too great. Remakes are never as good.

>Ha laughs at you all It looks sweet, has a leaked trailer Comes out in 2006. The scene

I downloaded that by accident. I’m pretty sure its a fake that uses scenes from other movies.

Yay, an alternative to the cartoon version with all the singing!

And after that, the Simarillion.

The cartoon version is cool.

I tried reading the Silmarillion once, it was very boring.

The bigger obstacle is the Tolkien estate, who currently won’t let a film version of The Hobbit be made. They didn’t have rights to the original trilogy (Tolkien sold them for 10 grand!), but right now his son is being a stick-in-the-mud in terms of letting Jackson do Hobbit.

As for me I think Jackson has done as good a job as anyone could in making these films, and in many ways I think the movies are superior to the novels that preceded them.
