Hokay, so I’m in the market for a new game controller for my computer. My current one works fine – insofar as it has ten buttons aside from the D-pad, and eight are on the front – but the D-pad seems to prefer diagonals over straights. I’ll be trying to use a combo in GGX (for PC) that involves pressing Forward, and it’ll go Forward-Up instead. So … anyone got any suggestions?
If you have a ps2 or psx controller around radio shack makes an adapter to make it got to usb. Thats what I use.
I do the same thing Crino does. 
Xbox controller S + USB adapter works very well.
Though most PC games i perfer the good old “Keyboard + Mouse” combo.
Logitech has one that is simialr to the PS2 controller which works great. It is only $20 too.
I think I’ve seen the Logitech ones at EB Games. (Ironically, the $15 one seems to have more features than the $20 one.) Crino, any idea how much the adapters cost?
15 bucks? I got a high-quality one off eBay for about ten. It has eight buttons, D-pad aside - six regular, two shoulder.
And recently, at a computer expo, I got one that’s an exact replicat of a PSX controller with added turbo for SEVEN. So shop around a bit.

Hmm … and while I’m at Radio Shack, I might as well pick up a USB extension with extra USB ports, too … 
Heh. Been playing emulators with my airflo controller, basically a PSX ripoff but with a fan in it to keep your’ hands from getting sweaty, when Im at home. But it lacks force feedack. Oh well. Would’ve mentioned it, but it seems you are set
X-Box controller, a usb cable, scissors, and electrical tape…
Download the drivers after you are done and youve got a damn good controller for your PC.

Um, no thanks, that’d require I actually go out and get an X-box controller. And, uh, I’ve already gotten one of the PSX-ripoff ones. 
And I am now getting my ass kicked by the eighth battle in GGX, instead of merely the fifth. n.n
I only use a controller to play ROMs and I got an USB one from a Computer City’s “going out of business” sale for $10. It’s got all the buttons of a PS2 controller but the D-pad isn’t the greatest. Meh, whatcha gonna do?
