Online suggestions?

After becoming so bored shtless with practically every ‘free’ game out there, all the games and roms I have, and with nothing decent coming out for a while, I’ve decided to start seriously considering paying, monthy or whatever, for an online non-RTS MMO game. I don’t care if it’s a RPG or an FPS, so long as it’s online, with other people. Any suggestions?

But not Ragnarok Online because my name is already taken… ;_;

Biosfear

Whoooo. Cheers Urk. :smiley: This one look pretty interesting and free…

Yeah, it does look good, but the word “beta” means that you’ll have to pay for it eventually…and by then, I’ll be so hooked that I’ll shell out hundreds of dollars a month to play, lose everything I own, and become a hopeless bum.

Yeah, but if it’s that good I’ll probably pay for it anyway.

Damn my willingness to contribute to companies to keep good games up and running! :stuck_out_tongue:

I prefer Planeshift myself; even though it’s still in development.

What’s more, it’s a community-based project, so all sourcecode is open and stuff, and if you want you can always ask on the wishlist boards. There is even a thread where you can design your own town… :smiley:

Congrats, this is illegal.

Tibia ;D

That biosfear looks pretty interesting… and dev, you better edit that out, Kagon will have your head if he sees it.

:kissy:

Edit: part of the registration is in german, schweet XD;

I don’t remember who, but some wise guy once said. “Shut up, our warez are still better than your Open Source crap.” :stuck_out_tongue:

Sound interesting, though, I might give it a shot.

Yeah, the one and only thing I don’t like about Biosfear is the engrish which seems to be in all the good online games nowadays, and the music other than that, it’s a great game.

Good 'ld epic ^^

Urk, that biosfear is pretty fun, but I am having trouble understanding all of the skills/what they do. Kinda annoying, but not as bad as Survival Project’s confusing stats <.<;

:kissy:

I have played most of the major MMO’s out there and here are how i feel about some of the major ones. Remember, these are just my opinions:

Everquest - Still the best, but for people like me who played it from day 1, the game has changed so much that its not the same game I started playing. Good solid choice though.

Dark Age of Camelot - Second best mmo out there. Very good gameplay, good player-base and just plain fun. The learning curve is a bit higher then average, but not by much.

Anarchy Online - Awsome game for awhile. Allthough many people were turned off by intial crappy release, most of whom never went back, the game is fun as hell. The only drawback is it is easy and after about 6 months it gets boring.

Star Wars Galaxies - Just plain sucks. It is really cool playing in the star wars universe, but the gameplay is non-existant and it just doesnt work well.

Final Fantasy XI - Fairly good game. The problem I have with it is that it is a PC port of a console game and they made no changes to the PC version. So for those that have played many other MMO’s, it tends to be a bit cramped in what you can and cannot do. For someone new to MMO’s it is great though.

Horizons - Another game that just plain sucks. The graphics are beautiful, but it did not live up to the hype at all. Every single person I know who joined with me quit after a month.

There are alot of good ones comming out in 2k4. City of Heroes, Everquest II, Middle Earth Online (Maybe) are some of the more well known ones.

I thought about Everquest, but I lack the needed funds to buy the game and all the needed expansions, as well as a credit card to pay for the monthly fee. It’s the same reason why I can’t play FFXI.

Luckily you can now get Everquest Evolutions which has all but 1 expansion on it for cheaper than the first game originally cost heh.

Is FFXI as good as everyone says it is? I want it but it hasn’t been released yet…

I’ve heard from some of my friends who played that after 3 weeks, all the quests and stuff are just boring, and the fun isn’t there anymore. I’ve also heard some really positive things about it- the only thing you can really do with MMORPGs is try them and see if they fit your style. The only downside is you have to fork out $50 to even try out FFXI. -_-
