Ohhhh 11 years later

Nah man, they’ve got to put out a Persona 3 and/or 4 rererelease with a brand new scenario (that requires beating the game to unlock) with Sega themed Persona and an even brand newer shoehored in character (or a female version of the MC if they go with Persona 4) first.

Valkyria Chronicles was SO_FUCKING_ANIME. PLaying the original was the weirdest experience, because I loved the gameplay so much (because it reminded me of BoF Dragon Quarter, a game that I would probably marry), yet the story and its execution were so, so bad. When I was playing through it, my girlfriend at the time, my roommate, and every guest I had over who watched a story cutscene laughed. And I mean that in the worst way possible.

You’re talking about 2 right? Because if you aren’t, then I have bad news for you…

SG: man, your threshold is low. Play Luminous Arc (or better yet, its sequel) in public.

Killmore: yeaaaaah.

Or any Image Epoch game for that matter; like Criminal Girls, Time and Eternity or Arc Rise Whatever (bonus points for that last one for its bad anime dub quality dub).

Cringing in 3, 2, 1…

I could not bring myself to finish Luminous Arc, part of it was the difficulty (game went from fun to fuck my life in 1 stage) and part of it was that I could not give a single fuck about these characters. It’s like, if you’re gonna make a harem fantasy tactical RPG at least make the main character less of a Gary Stu?

My favorite DS RPG will just have to be Radiant Historia. With music like this and a pretty damn good story, my only regret is how the game did not catch on more. And the bad endings, SO MANY WAYS TO BAD END.

One of the best parts of Luminous Arc 1 (and by best, I mean worst) was getting your Archer’s upgrade and never using him again because why would anyone want to give a long range support unit the ability to punch things? Its not even a good punching things in the face, its the kind that completely plays opposite of his type and abilities while simultaneously leaving his actual means of combat alone and in the dust because he’s already gotten his upgrade and tough shit that its completely worthless to him.

Not that having a party of seven goddamn [STRIKE]magic users[/STRIKE] magical waifus is ever worth it either since magic isn’t all that good in this game, let alone leaving 7/8ths of your team as fragile waifs that can’t take a hit worth a drat, nevermind the fact that the combo attack you get from it is both completely overkill and totally limp-wristed at the same time (mostly because it only does a bit more damage than some of your other combos and those only require two or three characters at most instead of your entire fielded team).

That said, I totally agree with you on Radiant Historia being the best original RPG on the system. But as far as bad DS RPGs go though, nothing will ever top Lunar: Dragon Song.

I’m just over here playing Skyrim.

I’m still stuck in the past. the console hooked up for me is my SMS and Miracle Warriors is plugged into it. if only I could speedrun the game. then again, I probably should just beat it first.

Hey Zepp/Ramuh, speaking of shit, you posting on Craigslist lately? This writing style has a bit of you on it.

Let’s get a kick starter going for Z. He needs a microwave!

If people will donate $40,000 to a potato salad campaign I refuse to believe we can’t raise money for Zero’s microwave.

Backers that donate $1.25 will get a hot dog (bun and condiments sold separately). Backers that donate $500 will get a cell phone that melts in such a way that it looks like its possessed (limit 30). As for stretch goals, at $5 bucks is Pizza tier 1 (1 slice), $15 is Pizza tier 2 (2 slices), $45 is Pizza tier 3 (3 slices), $135 is Pizza tier 4 (4 slices) and so on. Our ultimate goal is to raise $71,744,535 for Pizza tier final (all 16 slices). :toast:

But what would I do with a 2nd Microwave? TBH, I just thought that ad was amusing and a bit of a familiar style to it.

swoosh

I can’t even find a microwave that won’t trip out a breaker… even the lowest wattage will trip it. lol… old house blues

I’m living a microwave free life~~~~

Swinging back to this for a moment, apparently Sega has, for one reason or another, decided to localize a game that isn’t a Sonic game. Unfortunately, their choice was uh…questionable at best.

Where am I?

I created the Legend of Dragoon Shrine some 11+ years ago and helped (along with Cless Alvein) fellow dormant member Stonerocker with his Star Tropics 2 shrine. Was an active member on the forum, and pitched a couple ideas for the weekly polls. Stonerocker and I also pitched a new idea for the site called RPGCIQ, which basically was to be a weekly online test of RPG knowledge. The idea was in its testing phases and actually had potential, but we were too busy with high school at the time to work out all the bugs. And besides, everyone knows that high school is such a serious thing, and these problems matter. Just browsing the forum now I still recognize a lot of screen names and they instantly bring back memories, Albeit a lot of suppressed memories, but you have to face your demons someday ;).

Well, I will check in again 11 years from now.
