Obscure Games

Tom and Jerry was bitchen man, it was fun, but it was hard as shit. You had little marbles to throw at enemies and stuff, and the last mission you had to launch tom into space with a model rocket.

<img src=“http://sephy.nulani.net/images/kor.gif”>Mickey Mousescapade…It was my First game ^^…Also.:Commander Keen…:It was the first game of PC i played

Dogs playing poker is awesome. They’re dogs, and they play poker! Whats not to like!?!

There was an old Tiny Toons side scroller I played when I was much younger. It was fun, but incredibly hard. It was one of those evil amusement park episodes. Yeah. :stuck_out_tongue:

Kag said it, Rocketknight…
Now I hope that most of you love/play/have/heard of these games but no one I know irl has heard of them. kind of annoying.
Anywho, Secret of Monkey Island Series.
Nuff Said.

There’s a game I recntly tried for the NES, a sidescroller called “The Krion Conquest”…I only heard of it recently, but I’m not sure how obscure it is.

I think I remember that, that was that game where you played some little witch who could only fire in two directions and the enemies always hovered just above your range.

Yep, it pissed me off real fast. Then I started DW4. Does anyone remember Cutthroat Island on genesis? You played as this pirate guy running around hacking things down. It was a fairly tough game.

Accoualy, she could shoot straight up too.
And she had a few different weapons, one of whitch fired diagonaly up and bounced off walls.

Bah, most of the sidescrolling nes roms I downloaded had a half-life of about 3 minutes anyway.

Hmmm… Seiken Densetsu 3 (does that count?), Dragon View (for SNES, otherwise known as Drakken 2 or something) and Duck Hunt (YES!!! One of the best NES games I ever played).

Maybe no one here HAS heard of Monkey Island.
A grim day indeed.

Don’t be sad, I’ve played a little of it. But then I got tired of a friend of mine ruining it for me.

Yet another good ol’ sidescroller for the NES. You play as a mouse gathering gifts for his girlfriend. It accualy delivers a surpising amount of good gameplay, and it’s an old favorate of mine.

I remember this game from my early days on the NES; It was great fun. I think that I was able to complete it in the end. The aspect of this game which I enjoyed the most were the manifold ‘weapons’ in the game: pulleys, ropes, punching bags, etc…

An adventure/sidescoller (of sorts). I forget the rest. Not too bad, though.

Yes, also known as Wizards and Warriors II. I recall renting this game fairly frequently and advancing fairly far into the game, too. I have not played the first and third games in this series, but I am aware that they exist.

Another decent, but relatively unknown NES action-RPG is Faria, a game which I have even considered shrining. Although a little tedious at times, it is not a very difficult game.

Blasphmey, I’ve played and beaten them all, along with numerious other point and click adventures.

The other game which I remember distinctly as a young lad (latter half of the 1980s) was Castle Adventure, a game for the PC (our computer did not even have a hard drive!). Whoever thought that a bird’s eye view game composed of ascii-character graphics could be so amusing!

Perc, you just reminded me of a fun little Apple IIe game I played way back in public school called Think Quick! You played as a knight attempting to take back your castle from the evil puzzlemaster. Lots of cool puzzles and traps along the way, and at the end, you build a humongous knight to take down the enemy.

I would also relate any of the Ninja Boy/Super Chinese games as obscure. They were all really fun to play, but never really got a lot of praise.

Oh yeah, anyone remember the Oregon Trail?

Super Ninja Boy is an old favorate of mine. I’ve been looking everywhere for a MIDI of the big boss music.

Another one I thought of was Uninvited, whitch was made by the same guys who made Shadowgate and played exactly the same way.

A word of advise to all fans of Shadowgate who want to play Uninvited: Do NOT take the Ruby!!

I remember Ironsword. Man that game was fun. I beat it too. The final boss music was freaky too. Kinda a happy-go-lucky tune.

GG, try Deja Vu. It’s a Shadowgate/Uninvited type game where you play a man with amnesia, framed for a murder and a kidnapping.
