NOTICE: Inactive User Account Purge on May 17th

All inactive accounts which have 0 posts and were created before April 27 2003 will be deleted on May 17th 2003 at 6PM EST, be sure to have at least 1 post by then.

That is all.

Woo! And death shall befall the unbelievers!

all accounts made prior to like, 4/27 with 0 posts, right Zero?

Fine by me.

Whoa, as it stands, there are only 139 members with at least one post. I’d say we’ll lose at least 400 accounts now! (This is factoring in recent joiners, and assuming more people post something by that time.)

The only good thing about that would be that it gets rid of those that make accounts then never return or make multiple accounts and never use them.

Actually, should someone create a second account, the admins delete it.

The deletion will be good to get rid of people who are just cluttering up the members list with no posts.

Maybe that is one of the factors that are causing loading problems.

Woo, another member purge.

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/staff/tenchimaru/td.gif”> No, that can’t be it. It’s a problem with the amount of current connections. If anything, all those dead accounts only take up HD space, and since we have 80 gigs of it…

I wonder if anyone will sign up 1 second before it happens?

I’d be amazed if all the accounts would be anwhere near 10240kb, even if it does save the text info. Pictures are called as links and not saved in the account itself after all.

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/staff/tenchimaru/td.gif”> Yeah, all the avatars are in their own PHP thing, and get linked in through the member IDs. I’m not sure how it works with generic avatars, but I figure it’s about the same way.

EDIT: I just checked, and generic avatars are on their own page, and get normal linkins, not based on member ID.

Wooo!, Finally we’ll got rid of all these accounts!

I wonder why people join and then decide to disppear.Probably because they see the boards and get so frightened and dont even bother;)

Massive Destruction! Whee! =D

The way it works is, if the person selects a generic avatar, they get an avatar number, when it’s fetched from MySQL, the link that corresponds to that number is taken. From there, it’s a simple print “<IMG SRC=$row[avatar_url]>”

Well, if people posted like mad with attachments in the ToB, Free RP Forum, and polling forum, it would be a lot of space.

Or Hotmail takes their activation e-mail and junks it. Or they aren’t COPPA approved. Or they forgot the URL. Or they didn’t supply a valid e-mail address in the first place. The list goes on.

I think there are something like almost 100 users waiting for email confirmation alone…

Why do people sign up, then never post?

They give fake e-mails.
