ONE POINT SEVENTY FIVE TRILLION DOLLAR DEFICIT?!? WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK!?
Health care, energy, and education reforms are expensive. D:
Yes. Yes they are.
And borrowing yourself out of a recession isn’t that new an idea. Though goddamn at the scale. x.x I respect what he wants to work towards though.
Yes. Now is the time to pour over 600 billion dollars into healthcare reform - when the country is in economic turmoil. You elect a Democrat, you get tax-and-spend policies. Don’t act surprised. You get what you vote for.
Because investing for the future is such a terrible idea.
Investing in the future is all well and good but 1.75 trillion dollars in debt in a single year, which will repeat itself in the future is absolutely ridiculous.
Re: tax and spend democrats, to be fair , thanks to the bush administration, you have lost all right to criticize the other party for generating record deficits.
It is a scary thought if everything goes pear shaped, or if the government is being overly optimistic in their estimations (which would be a real first, oh yes). Otherwise most of the projects should in general pay for themselves over the long term. Assuming a rigorous plan for spending and repayment is followed, which is unlikely because of the differences in party mentality over there. Can still hope.
It wouldn’t be that hard to pay for if the guy who talked about how much he hoped for peace would spend less on the military.
Because clearly he’s Superman and can therefore use his super-hypnotism to make everyone fall into line with every single thing he wants to do.
I think that was a central conceit of his platform, yes.
Why don’t you put the whole world in a bottle, Obama.
No it wasn’t. Though it may have been hyped up to look that way. Again, change is not always revolution.
Instead of sixteen months, we will be out of Iraq in nineteen months. It’s a reasonable increase in the amount of time necessary to make the withdrawal more successful. Admiral Mullen and other military officials, like the Secretary of Defense seem to support this move. It’s a wise move considering the fact that if we were to leave by the time President Obama promised during the campaign, we would be gone during a critical election period in Iraq.
It’s still earlier than the time set by the SOFA; but I’ll take what I can get. Now, the battle is going to be over the defense budget.
As soon as all the Democrats who complained about deficit spending stop supporting the largest increase in the deficit at one time since the start of the country, I’ll take your statement in consideration.
No, like, I’m pretty sure he mentioned super-hypnotism at two of the debates. It was a pretty big thing. You seriously don’t remember? He also pointed out that more meaningful than the first black president, he would be the first Kryptonian president. None of this is ringing a bell?
My bottle comment gains more credence.
