Nintendo, I think highly of you and everything, but stop making a new console every time sales of your current one drop. It’s one of the dumbest things you can do.

EDIT-You know what would kick serious ass? A re-incarnation of the VirtualBoy, but instead fo being 2 colors it could be like a normal Nintendo console that just used goggles for output. Oh well. Thats never happening.
I’ve heard about this a while ago and still can’t believe they’re going through with it. It seems like after the SNES, Nintendo has been going though consloes like crazy.

Now I most certainly WILL NOT purchase a gamecube, ever. And i won’t get this new console, either, because they’ll be lining up it’s replacement by the time it hits the shelf.
Not to mention I still nurse a grudge over the way the NES and SNES were kicked to the curb and killed off. Grrrargrrrrgh.

But that’s the life of game systems. I wish that the SNES was backwards comatible, and also the N64, but what’s done is done. Not much you really can do.
If they make a new Smash Brothers game for their new console, I’m getting it. That’s the only reason I brought a Gamecube, really. And I’m still happy with it.
I hope it will be able to play GameCube games, else it will just be silly and not a very good idea at all.
It would be sweet if this new console was able to play the new games, GC, NES, SNES, and maybe even GB games. Too bad that will never happen. But hey, I can dream can’t I?

First off, the article specifically said it wasn’t a portable or a console. :boring:
Anyway… in my opinion, I don’t think this is such a bad idea. I’ve had my GCN since the day it released and have never once regretted buying it. The money I’ve shoveled out has kept my insanity safely where it belongs:mwahaha: I can’t wait to see what they’re coming up with next.
As for Nintendo going through systems “so fast”, there haven’t
been THAT many. N64 and GCN lasted a combined… 7 years I think? Sony has had two systems in about the same time, maybe a little bit longer. If you think about it, it’s really not that horrible. With as fast as technology is advancing, I don’t blame Nintendo for coming up with something new.
For a demonstration of how fast games are getting better, I’d suggest finding a video of a game called “Stalker: Oblivion Lost” for PC. very… very impressive::dekar!::
