New Music

Well, its that time again. I’m bored musically and could use new shit to listen too.

I listen to everything except pop-punk (and most punk in general) and country, so just list most everything save for that.

What I’m specifically looking for is good Bad Religion songs and good Pearl Jam songs. Thanks muchs.

I think Pearl Jam did that Evolution song. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, it’s the only song of their’s I liked (and therefore the only good suggestion I have to offer). Try it out, but chances are you have it already.

I actually don’t have any Pearl Jam. A travesty, I know, but hey - what can I say? Oops.

The Muse
The Misfits
Dead Kennedys
The Darkness

For good Bad Religion songs:

[ul]
[li]Parallel
[/li][li]Leaders and Followers
[/li][li]The Defense
[/li][li]No Control
[/li][li]I Want To Conquer The World
[/li][li]All Good Soldiers
[/li][li]Infected
[/li][li]Shattered Faith
[/li][li]Supersonic
[/li][/ul]

I have pretty much all of those songs, and they could/should make for a good start.

Bad Brains
Nekromantics
Rev. Horton Heat (nah, it isn’t religous, mostly about drinking beer)
Anal Cunt
Tiger Army
Red Elvises
Turbonegro
The Specials
Jane’s Addiction

They’re all great bands

Alexisonfire

screaming punk :stuck_out_tongue:

I actually got into 3 Doors Down recently.

Good Bad Religion songs? This one’s right up my alley :stuck_out_tongue: I’ll try to list them in an order you should probly get them, meaning the bottom songs are good, but you should probly see that you like Bad Religion first

The first list are songs that I think most anyone that likes good rock would like

  • Watch it Die (Featuring Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam! There’s your double dose :P)

  • Parallell

  • The Defense

  • Strange Denial

  • Inner Logic

  • Infected

  • I Love My Computer

  • The Voracious March of Godliness

  • Shades of Truth

  • Broken

– Here’s where the normal list stops. The rest of these are songs you should download if you decide you like BR :stuck_out_tongue: They are in no particular order.

  • You’ve Got a Chance

  • Don’t Sell Me Short

  • Cease

  • 21st Century Digital Boy (This is actually a more popular BR song, but I don’t know if I’d say it’s their most impressive song :P)

  • Pretty much any song from their album “Stranger Than Fiction”, it’s their best all around album:

  • Skyscraper

  • Recipe For Hate

  • All Good Soldiers

  • Materialist

  • All Fantastic Images

  • I Want to Conquer the World

  • Losing Generation (This is a fuckin WEIRD song for BR, you’ve been warned :P)

  • Leaders and Followers

  • Follow the Leader (This one too :stuck_out_tongue: BTW, Leaders and Followers is a different song)

  • Fuck Armageddon…This is Hell (Another one of their more popular songs that I can’t really say is too amazing :P)

  • God Song

  • Entropy

Oh boy… time for me to shine.

Christian Death.

Pagnini

Igor Stravinsky

Wagner

JS Bach

The Who - “Pinball Wizard,” “Acid Queen,” other stuff.

I probably left out a bunch of stuff. Oh well. Its too damned long already, and I was getting more and more sloppy towards the end, so I’ll stop.

EDIT: I left them out because you say that you don’t like punk, but DEAD KENNEDYS! They are one of my favorite bands of all time. “Chickenshit Conformist” should be to your liking.

While I’m remebering: Danko Jones. High energy, loud and Canadian. Three amazingly good things. Oh and my all time favorite band ‘Ghost of the Robot’.

You might like “The Killing Moon”, “The Cutter”, or “Lips Like Sugar” by Echo and the Bunnymen.

Try “3rd Planet”, “Heart Cooks Brain”, or “Trucker’s Atlas” by Modest Mouse.

They were already mentioned, but almost anything by the Pixies is fantastic.

While it borders on easy listening when compared to their other stuff, anything off of The Velvet Underground’s self titled album is pretty good. Of course, anything by this band is freaking great.

And if you like any of the stuff CC mentioned by Sonic Youth, you should immediately download anything you can find off of the album “Daydream Nation”, which is one of the greatest albums ever!1!!!exclamationpoint11111one!

I could go on all day but I’ve decided to just mention some of the stuff I have sitting around my stereo.

For electronic music, usually with good grooving beats and such, Cirrus, Crystal Method, BT, Daft Punk, FatBoy Slim, Hybrid, Orbital, Paul Oakenfold, and Prodigy.

And since I can’t think of any other specific categories I’ll just put a bunch of bands and their CD names if I remember them.

I dont listen to new music, I listen to 80s at the moment.

Definately some Depeche Mode and The Darkness (Best power-rock band around, even though they did release a novelty song -_-). Black by Pearl Jam is pretty good. Pretty much anything by The Smiths or Radiohead and R.E.M are ok too.

Nickleback, Feeder, Muse, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

The only song by the Darkness that is any good id I believe in a thing called love

Everyone here seems to have really good taste, practically all my faves have been mentioned. The only bands I’d add would be The Jam, The Kinks and Alice Cooper.
