Don’t kill me. This has probably been asked before but I don’t find it on the board 
Anyway… yesterday my pal Hanna got me to watch the first few episodes of NGE (after I had scared her half to insanity by having her watch Excel Saga :mwahaha:), and then I asked her if there were more series since I’ve heard names like NGE: Rebirth or whatever being thrown around here from time to time. But she hadn’t heard of anything like that.
So, can anybody enlighten me on the stuff that “surrounds” this series, movies and so on?
As far as I know, there’s first the series.
Then there’s “End Of Evangelion” which is a movie and an alternative ending for the series.
And after that there’s “Death And Rebirth” which is probably some other crazy movie…
But I don’t know… I’ve only seen the series, not the movies…

Neon Genesis Evangelion - End of Evangelion: Movie, takes place after the series, Death and Rebirth didn’t happen.
Death was a (average and seriously abridged) retelling of the series up to 24.
Rebirth was just a preview of End of Eva.
End of Eva just flat-out replaced the last two eps, which were, depending on your point of view, weird-yet-genius, or just plain sucky.
Go get the remastered, director’s cut versions of them from http://www.a2000a.com/bt/index.php if you like. These are just so much better than the original that it’s unbelieveable.:yipee: :yipee: :yipee:
Death and Rebirth is definately not a substitute for the whole series up to that point. It’s far too rushed, and I got very confused because that was the first one I actually watched. End of Eva was pure genious, though. Far better than the original ending.
