…me la mata ^_^;
Sorry about my spelling, I can’t remember how to spell too many Spanish words…
I came here today to demonstrate what a total gn00b/lamer I am. I need to know how to open a port.::doh::
Port 4662, to be exact. I’m trying to run eDonkey2000 with a site with strict firewall rules. Unfortunately, my firewall is blocking the TCP port that eDonkey uses for incoming files (it uses 4665 for incoming UDP, I think). I’m on Earthlink DSL, and I am, unfortunately, running Windows XP. I need some help.
And, just to get it out of the way, I’ll give myself some advice:

Re: that picture, I think they mean formatting the old-fashioned way, i.e. with carbine rounds, flamers, RPG rounds, miniguns, all that good violent stuff that only killed aliens in Ridley’s hands…

Or the really old way: with a horseshoe magnet!
Those weren’t in Aliens. And if they were, they’d be Gauss Horseshoes. Fragmenting Gauss Horseshoe Launchers, actually (FGHL)
Is it a hardware firewall, and if so what brand?
I’m not sure. It came with our Earthlink DSL package. We’re using a ZWIRE-brand Earthlink HomePortal. The hardware came with some software, so it could be either.
I’m surprised (maybe I shouldn’t be) that Windows doesn’t have a utility for managing TCP/UDP ports.
But then again, Windows kinda sucks like that.
