Mystics

I’ve looked into Mystics quite a bit on Gamefaqs. Something keeps eluding me–I wonder how I can raise my mystic’s Weapon Points.

White Rose didnt’ gain any at all so far. I even used her Mystic techniques and Mystic sword. She only gains HP

Asellus (half mystic) was doing fine until she suddenly did this Mystic Change stuff. I was using her martial arts. Now all she gains is HP

They can gain WP, but Mystics gain it very, very slowly. I think you’ll need to use the abilities sucked into the Mystic equipment for them to actually gain the WP.

Mystics gain WP by punching ie the normal attack as well. My favorite way to raise Mystics is to punch Krakens, then bombard with instant death spells the next round. Especially once everyone has learned all their spells. If not at least 3 will use the spells good for instant death or stone.

Hey, thanks!

I think I’ll focus on their magic then.

You should get them some WP as well depending on what you absorb. Like I said if you battle Krakens with mystics it is very easy to raise both. You just need a decent set up.

Say Unicorn in Sword, Dullahan/Crystal Tree in Gloves, and Suzaku in boots is my favorite. Then just have pearl hearts. Have spells like Time Eclipse, Phantasm Shot, Reaper, Death, Etc. Then just do the Kraken thing I said early.

With just 60 WP, you can heal with Magic Heal from Mystics 20 times. And it heals a lot better than Star Light Heal. And you free a slot for the use of a much better spell. Say Megawind blast or Dark Sphere.

However a ratio of 60 Wp/140 JP is probably the easier bet than 140 WP/60 JP and may be much more useful too.

What’s “normal attack”?

Can I use a gun/lazer/machine gun to raise Mystic WP?

Probably anything you raise human WP with can be used to raise Mystic WP. Ie normal guns, swords and punch.

What does mystic Change do? none of gamefaqs knows. Asselus uses it and turns shiny sometimes.

  1. Mystics gain WP by either using Normal Weapon attacks (Like Punch, or Sword, or Gun, though I don’t know if blasters, lasers, or rockets work), or using the techs builty into their Mystic Sword/Glove/Boots. Oddly enough, using Normal Weapon attacks raises it faster.

  2. Mystics generally just have a lower Max WP/JP than humans anyways. I have an Emilia save file with about 20 hours on it :stuck_out_tongue: Fighting top notch enemies like Krakens, I get one person to level up one thing about every 20-30 minutes. I have one Mystic in my group (Zozma) and his maxes are about 90 WP and 80 JP. Don’t expect them to get a whole lot.

  3. Mystic Change changes Asellus into a Mystic. All this means really is that she is a Mystic for the rest of the fight. Generally, this will change how she levels up (Mystics are uncapable of raising certain starts through fighting, and only raise them by absorbing monsters), and will get you the other Mystic weapons faster. Also, as an added bonus, it changes the ending based on what you do too. But, nothing else very cryptic, or amazing.

Actually it seems the first person in the party gets the most chance to level up and the last person in the party gets the least chance to level up. Supposedly Mystics level up better when they are fighting by themselves as there is some weird priority for humans.

Either way it does seem to help to level up mystics with mechs and monsters and not with humans. Especially based on that information. My mystics are pretty strong over all.

Thank you so much

Edit: It worked. All the strategies you typed worked. I just beat Asellus’ quest using Aselus, Silence, Zozma, Cotton, and the Ogre.

The mystics got their WP whenever they punched most enemies in the Lab. (Cool) The team was pretty tough. It was a really fun adventure since the characters were different from the other quests
