Movies (and books and such) people should see/read

I STRONGLY disagree with Requiem for a Dream. That has to be the most pointless and meaningless shit I’ve ever beheld.

…Hades, I’m just gonna go ahead and assume you meant that it was pointless and meaningless to YOU.

I would recomend Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse as well.

What the hell is it anyway?

To summarise it, “Requiem for a Dream” is a film, based on a novel, about drug addiction. The characters consist of a heroin addict, his mother(who gets addicted to diet pills), his girlfriend(who has to whore herself off to support her addiction), and his black friend(normally I wouldn’t bother pointing out the race of the characters, but it plays a vital role in his fate). It’s a very visual aswell as audio inclined film, for there are a lot of scenes in it that flow well with the haunting soundtrack. I think you might enjoy the movie, for the very reason that it does not glamorize drug use at all. Mind you, it isn’t a movie about how drug use is bad, it’s more about addiction than anything else.
