OK, I admit it, that was AWESOME. Though I’m not really happy with the graphics, but whatever. Also:
-For those of you who don’t recognize it, the battle is taking place on top of the Hellicarrier, SHIELD’s flying headquarters.
-Why is Doctor Doom just blasting holes on the Hellicarrier’s deck? Kinda lame for a master villain to do.
-The pointy-eared fellow is the Super-Skrull, who has all of the Fantastic Four’s powers!
-Good thing Captain America’s shield has anti-kinetic qualities, or just the impact from the blades would have knocked him away.
-Who is the babe in the motorcycle? Pamela Anderson?
-Ohhh my God it’s Viewtiful Joe riding Amaterasu!! AND GROWING FLOWERS ALONG SUPER-SKRULL’S ARM!!! YEEEEAH!!!
I was expecting something generic (the story is never the strong point of these Fighting Game crossovers) but maybe this one will be better. And it looks cool so far anyway.
If I wanted a flying aircraft carrier to blow up I would target something other than its landing field. Like you, know, the HUMONGOUS turbines that keep it aloft. But let’s go with “Doom just wanted to attract the heroes there as part of a larger plan” excuse. Not to mention this is just a promo and may not happen in the actual game.
Oh and I’m sick of the “It was a Doombot!” excuse. Be manly and accept your errors writers!!!
I like how this trailer has nothing to do with the actual game, whatsoever. Those might not even be the actual graphics, because that sure as hell isn’t gameplay. It’s going to have Marvel and Capcom characters fighting, you say, trailer? Why, I never would have guessed that from reading that it was called Marvel vs. Capcom, I’m glad I watched you, this told me a lot about the game, since I did not know those elements, that is to say Marvel, Capcom, and versing, would be present.
Well, to be honest, it did say it was a cinematic trailer… so that rules out game-play. However even trailers that show game-play can’t be believed that much, as they always enhance the visuals to promote it more. What you see is not what you get, 99% of the time (in my opinion.)
However this trailer sure looks very nice and is no doubt very captivating… however, it presents no sign of what the game itself, has to offer.
Jeez, with some simple youtube searching you guys can easily find gameplay footage. The trailer is just that… a trailer. There’s a lot of game trailers that just show cut scenes, just like how there’s movie trailers out there that just have text, speech, narration etc.
Hoolee… Bionic Commando in his 2009 garb. Exchanging banter with Iron Man over just having the arm instead of the whole suit. O_o; Swinging jokes with Spidey? Only time will tell…
Arthur, complete with heart boxers. If Frank West went REAL MEGA BUSTER in Tatsunoko vs Capcom, would Chuck Greene go REAL KNIGHT ARMOR if he were to appear? :o
(Wait a minute… what kinds of Anti-Magneto shields did Dr. Doom and Iron Man have? 'cause just Spencer and Arthur got me thinking about it…)
what kinds of Anti-Magneto shields did Dr. Doom and Iron Man have?
Not sure, but both being geniuses I’m certain they had something to keep Mags from just slamming them around. (I do know that Captain America’s shield, being made from an unique alloy (an accident in fact) cannot be magnetized, as Magneto found out the hard way on their first encounter.)
Imagines Magneto ripping off Arthur’s armor and leaving him only in his boxers BWA HA HA!!
“Well, it’s a good thing Arthur wasn’t going commando.” Spencer facepalms
But do remember Arthur has magical powers to accompany is accoutrement of (metallic) weaponry… heck, his torch does create heat, which… makes magnets lose their power.
Their metals probably aren’t ferromagnetic. The other forms of magnetism, from what I remember in 8th grade physical science, are much weaker. Magneto probably has some control over them, but because they’re weaker, he can’t affect them to nearly the same level. I know in the movies, Tony’s first real armor (not the cave one) was stainless steel of some sort, and most stainless steel is non-ferromagnetic. I think the second one was gold-titanium (again, probably non-ferromagnetic). I imagine Doom’s armors have similar metal alloys which don’t respond to ferromagnetism.
Ach, of course. Captain America’s shield is vibranium - harder than adamantium alloy. And didn’t Tony go NANOMACHINES at some point, not having to carry his junk in a briefcase anymore?
When Captain America throws his mighty shield, all his enemies must y
Cap’s shield was created by a mysterious industrial accident that has never been successfully replicated (I assume one of these days they will explain it as being the work of aliens, time travelers or what have you.) Adamantium was in fact invented in an attempt to recreate it, but yes Cap’s shield is actually harder.
Dunno about the Nanotech thing, I haven’t read Iron Man in ages (the whole Civil War thing turned me off). I do know he had gained technology-controlling powers from a nanotech virus that had infected his brain. Recently he lost his memory from the last few years (probably to get the fans to forgive him for his dickishness during the War) and I bet he lost his new powers in the process.
The only way I would enjoy Howard in a fighting game would be if they allowed him to wear the superhero parody costumes he used in the comics like IRON DUCK and MASTER OF QUACK FU! (Yes seriously!)
