So I was just typing one of my term papers, and was 1/2-way done(the 3000 word one mentioned here, and the power goes out. I had to restart the paper, from scratch. I had LITERALLY just made 1500 words.
Ouch.

And that’s why you are supposed to save every tenth minute, and have an Uninterruptable Power Supply.
Try just opening Word again. Sometimes it comes back up.
