Linux 2.6 Stable is out!

I take two days off for some partying and P&P RP:ing and totally miss it… Doh!

Anyhow, it’s been out since Thursday, but… IT’S OUT! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Starts downloading the 2.6 stable kernel

Curses over his sloooooow bandwidth ;_;

And everyone who has a slight interest in knowing already know, and the lot of them knew yesterday.

Now stop making useless post and start doing something useful, like writing me a weblog script.

Actually, not everyone who wanted to know, knew. I didn’t. I’m downloading stuff on Windows right now, but when I’m done I might download it.

Okay, for people who wonders how it is;

Finally got all of it down and recompiled it. I just gotta say, IT KICKS ASS! :smiley:

Speed is like, whooooaaaa… My apps load like, 60-150% faster on this baby as compared to the 2.4 series. I haven’t had a chance to try out ALSA yet, there’s a sound configuration there that I messed up… But I hope I’ll get it together soon. My computer simply breathes easier.

All in all - Great job Thorvalds, looking forward to the next release! :smiley:
