legacy of kain

Anybody played the whole series? I’ve played all but Lok: blood omen 2. Also I heard that there is gonna be a 6th game any truth to these rumors?

Played everything except Defiance, which is a bastard since I really want to know what happens. Someone spoil it for me?

I only have a PS1, so I’ve only played Soul Reaver 1, although that was enough to make me download about a GB of Raziel-related wallpapers.

I also have a copy of Blood Omen 1 that I have yet to push myself to play.

I’ve only played Soul Reaver. It was really fun, and I still want to play the original LoK.

Defiance is real real good. and I’ve played the original most of the way through but it died. and i own soul reaver for PC, rented Lok:Sr2 for ps2 loved it and proceeded to rent Lok: Blood omen 2. Then to buy defiance. if you want defiance spolied here goes you start as kain and worl your way towards getting to mobius to ask questions, then as raziel you must work your way out of the spirit realm and escape the oracle/elder god squid thing. then you go thru all this crap such and raziel eventually regains the heart of darkness to revive janos audron to get answers but finds out the heart is what made kain a vampire so you end up fighting raziel as kain, then fighting kain as raziel and ripping his heart out and reviving janos only for janos to take you to this vampire citadel and then janos gets possesed by the hilden god(hilden are this race of vampire like things that the ancient vampries cast into the demon realm and raziel is the prohecied cahmpion of the hilden and kain is the hero of vampires) so blah blah blah stuff then you end up fighting the elder god as kain after some stuff happens that i wont divulge as to compeletly ruin the game nevertheless. go play it.

Hell yes I’ve played it! It’s my favorite fucking game series! I love it as much as I love Middle Earth (which is alot. You could call me a fanatic). As for a 6th, well there was going to be but I’m not so sure now. I hope they make one more because theres still some things unanswered.

I’ve only played the 1st one…seems like diablo appropriated some stuff from this game :fungah: (whirlwind with axe, Kain & Necro similarities…)

Actually… As Janos realizes when Raziel shows him that he wields the Reaver in a different manner than he thought (As his counterpart captive and deranged spirit, instead of a physical weapon), he is both redeemer and destroyer. He is both champions at the same time, and the outcome of the conflict is ultimately his choice. The fully powered wraith blade was meant to inhabit the physical Reaver, thus enabling Kain (the Scion of Balance) to see the true enemy (the giant squid) and defeat him. It took Raziel quite a lot of time to put the pieces together, but once he did, he knew exactly what he needed to do.

and go raziel for not being retarded.

The Legacy of Kain games are a great series. I still think that the first game, Blood Omen, is the best; it’s such a dark gothic RPG. Blood Omen 2 gets kinda repetitive and boring at times, and has a few plot inconsistencies with the rest of the games. Soul Reaver is really fun, but it’s a little short and lacks some detail. Soul Reaver 2 takes care of that graphic detail part, thanks to the stronger engine. It also gives a few answers but opens up a helluva lot more questions. Defiance is a great game; it has more variable handling compared to Soul Reaver 1 and 2, I think, as well as letting you control both Kain and Raziel at the same time; it also answers all the questions and really wraps things up well. All in all, the series has a great mythology and background world/history. I recommend playing the first game most, if nothing else.

See i cant find the first game anywhere, and I’m trying to find soul reaver one for PSx cuz I have it for computer and…well bascially im gonna try and own them all at some point.

crinoalvien, go here:http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00006IGOC/qid=1100554795/sr=1-6/ref=sr_1_6/103-4368927-7891835?v=glance&s=videogames. It comes with Blood Omen 1 and Soul Reaver 1 for the Playstation. It also comes with Fighting Force which has no ties to the LOK series.

The reason why Blood Omen 2 had such inconsistencies was because Amy Henning (the one who wrote the entire plot) was reputedly not directly involved with the team that developed that one, which resulted in a few screwups.

Just one thing though… I wish they’d make a sequel to Defiance. I know it’s not likely to happen, as that was supposed to be the conclusion of the saga, but this new engine is so great it left me wanting more fights and puzzles, even if just to have the fun of watching Kain and Raziel kicking more Sarafan arse.

Actually Defiance wasn’t supposed to be the conclusion. Maybe when it started out but CD said that a 6th Lok game was going to be made to finish it all up. They said that after Defiance was realeased I believe. I dont have a link sorry but I know I’ve read it somewhere and alot of Lok fans on other boards have too. But then there was this whole thing with Eidos possably being sold (dont know the full details) and there was fear that there would be no more Lok. Well I dont think that Eidos is going to be sold now. I’m not sure but its been over a year since Lok Defiance has been releases and there has been no more news on it. So more than likely, Lok is over. weeps

There was barely a peep about Defiance until a few months before its release, as well. LoK games usually take several years to finish (so if a sixth game is to be released, it’ll be in 2006/2007).

Actually, Amy Hennig has left Crystal Dynamics, but said on the Eidos Forums (which also have several other members of the LoK team) that she submitted a complete plot outline for the final game before leaving. Hopefully, they’ll follow through and give the epic the ending it deserves (considering how many dangling plot holes Defiance had left).

Yeah I know Amy left. They said they’d do another Lok game but then there was this whole thing about Eidos being sold. Haven’t heard a word of that in a while. I just dont think Eidos is doing to well. I hope to God we get another Lok game though. Just one more.
